Birds in Nature - images of wild birds by Richard Ditch

Commentary: Once common throughout NJ, this quail is now in serious decline and has become hard to find there. After spotting this bird in a grassy field from a distance, I was able to get my car close enough for this shot taken from the car window. The bright flower heads are a bit distracting, but I like the feeling of wildness from this unkempt field. As usual for me, no fill flash was used as I find it often makes the image look artificial, and I prefer my nature photos to look natural.
