Birds in Nature - images of wild birds by Richard Ditch |

Subject: American Pipit (Anthus
rubescens)
Place: Scottsdale, AZ, USA
Date: October 2003
Equipment: Nikon N90S, Nikkor AF-S 300/2.8 & TC20E (= 600/5.6),
monopod from car
Film: Fujichrome Sensia 100
Exposure: aperture priority matrix metered, natural light
Scan: Minolta Dimage; 60% of frame
Commentary: I've always found pipits intriguing birds as they
have found their own unique lifestyle. They are birds of barren open
places - beaches, tundra, bare earth and short grass fields. They are
as "plain" as most sparrows, and overlooked by many people.
