Commentary: Another common "backyard" bird, taken in a more natural setting. I had traveled 100 miles to this location, hoping to get photos of a rare wintering Least Grebe. But this wonderful setting caught my eye as soon as I got my camera gear out of the car. I only got a single frame of this bird - it flew as soon as a group of birders arrived and proceeded to walk past this cactus I was set up on. Otherwise I'd have tried to move a little more to the left and a little closer, but I'm still quite happy with this shot.
