Commentary: This adult bird is one of perhaps two dozen that roost in the daytime in a small group of cottonwood trees beside a large artificial lake in heavily developed Scottsdale, AZ. This lake is surrounded by apartments, restaurants, a shopping center, and busy roads. A paved path used by joggers and cyclists passes within 30 feet of these trees. As a result the birds are very tolerant of human activity and were wouldn't spook while I tried to find a position where I could point the camera up and minimize the leaves that blocked most viewpoints.
