!His sirname was Wilson at birth, he changed it to the Willson spelling when he married his first cousin Katherine.

His father died when he was eleven and he was raised by an uncle.

RESIDENCE: Shortly after their marriage they moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where he served as judge of the court. In 1848 they moved to Montezuma, Iowa, he was the founder of the town and established the first store. His family were the founders and the first members of the Methodist Church in Montezuma, Iowa. Mrs. C.F.Dickerson wrote a letter to Nellie Draper in 1950 and said she would feature the Wilson family as early pioneers for the state historical library.
