Planetary is dedicated to uncovering the secret history of the 20th century. From time-lost superheroes and mysterious government projects to corruption on a global scale, the stories they investigate are both awesome, and terrible. And as they put the pieces of the nightmare together, the question becomes: At what point do they stop merely reacting to what has already occurred, and instead use their power and knowledge to put an end to it?Individual issues of the series pay homage to Japanese monster movies, pulp novels, '50s cinema, and classic comic book figures from the past and the present. Odds are that the following overviews will miss some of the subtext...but it's not for lack of trying.
