Day 144, 1068.5 hours

The first thing completed this session  was the fabrication of the battery tray and installation of the battery.

We are rapidly running out of room in the nose compartment!

Day 147, 1090.5 hours

A decision was made to construct the panel as a set of modular sub-panels.  This is not the typical approach, but shows promise for ease of construction and service.

An experimental aircraft is...well...experimental!  Time will tell if this is a viable approach.  More to follow.

A decision has been made to use a wiring hub for the radio installation rather than contract hand-wiring of the panel.

Day 148, 1100.5 hours

The seat pans have been assembled with the seat backs and brackets.

Hard points were installed in the aircraft floor to mount the seats.  It was quite a challenge to get this right, as the fuselage floor is curved and tapered, and the seats have to be level and straight.

Does anyone see anything strange in this picture?  Check at Oshkosh for the answer!

Day 152, 1122.5 hours

This is an overhead view of the aft compartment showing the installation of the ELT (Emergency Locator Transmitter) and the roll servo for the autopilot.

The roll servo operates the same mechanism that is connected to the control stick, so the servo actually guides the airplane by moving the control.
