We had been underway leaving Pearl on a WesPac trip, so we'd been out a couple of weeks or so.  One fine day in the forward torpedo room a steward by the name of Hermosura (Benny Huk the M-F) was moving things
around, shifting deck plates, waking people up and just generally making a hell of a lot of racket.  Well Leon J. Swackhamer, TM1(SS) was trying to read or sleep or something and this greatly disturbed him and everyone else who was there.  Finally "Swack" said...."....what in the hell are you doing?"....Hermosura told him that he was trying to locate some "Metracal" a flavored chocolate drink that was the latest thing for someone on a diet and
that the Captain (LCDR J.K. McConeghey) had purchased about 4 cases of it and the stewards had stowed it in the forward room...and he couldn't locate any of it!  Swack wanted to know what it was and what it looked like and
Herman told him.  Swack said, "....Oh - that shit's all gone - we drank the last of it a couple of days ago!".... and turned over or continued reading not the least bit concerned.  I don't know what Benny told the Captain.
