Vance Oscar Crosby, 1927-2002
Vance Oscar Crosby, age 74, Eden Prairie, born Dec. 26, 1927, peacefully passed away March 29, 2002 after a brief battle with cancer.

Beloved brother, husband, father, & grandfather. Survived by siblings, Orin Crosby & Lillian Lowery; loving wife, Joyce of 50 years; 5 daughters & families, Sue (David) Hadden, Gwen (Jacque) Nadeau, Jill Duenas, Barb (Andrew) Baldwin, Jennifer (Chris) Zewiske; grandchildren Mike, Dan, Jackie, Sam, Ian, Mia, Luke, & Brooke.

Vances teaching career included Kimball, Mound, Chaska, & Richfield. He played high school & college sports; coached basketball, baseball & softball at Richfield HS. Vance was a long time member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and recently Crossview Lutheran.

The family would like to thank the staff of Methodist Hospital, Cancer Care Unit for their steadfast care and support.

With a life dedicated to teaching, Vance requested his body be donated to the U of MN for research. Memorials are directed to St. Peters Lutheran School, Edina, or memorial of choice.

Memorial service will be held at Crossview Lutheran Church, 6645 W. McCauley Trail, Edina, Sunday, April 7. Family and friends will gather 3 to 5 PM, service 5 PM, with reception to follow.
