Grooming the Mane and Tail

The mane and tail are probably the most difficult areas to groom. The key here is to be vigilant in grooming these areas often. use a metal or rigid plastic mane/tail comb to loosen snarls and comb out any debris. Cockleburs present a time-consuming challenge as they tend to cause the hair to knot up around them. Remove as many of these offenders as you can before combing out (to avoid tearing out hair). There are a number of products on the market to condition manes and tails so that they are eaiser to groom and less prone to hair breakage.
