Leg Grooming

A horse's legs should not be groomed with a currycomb. The boney structure leaves them prone to abrasion. Use a curry mitt and soft bristle brush to whisk away dirt and dust. Any collection of mud can be removed gently by hand. Be especially careful grooming around the chestnut (area on upper inside of each leg) as these protruding bits of skin can catch on the corner of your brush.
