The dragonflies are with us tonight
Calling knat games and sunset songs
It's all over we can fly now
As if light were the wind
And we could see the storm
From the sun, feel the water
Find the place mirrored
And without warmth
Save our own
The whirl about us is only
The wings, silver in our minds
Bronze in our grip, weighty
For such a soul, called to flight
We always imagined a season
To end with a turn
And found freedom, chill air
In the moon
Our faces, set
And darkened in the passing light
