Our day's events began on campus at dear old Lincoln High, commencing with a registration period which promoted a welcome of classmates, some of which had not seen each other for forty years.
A performance was given by the Lincoln High School Pep Squad, the R.O.T.C. Cadet Color Guard presented the colors and the Pledge of Allegiance was given. At the end of the program in the Auditorium, all the classmates were gathered in front by our class plaque, which was ceremonously unearthed by memebers of the Reunion Committee, Armando "Mando" Garcia, Raul Solis, John Arriola, and Edward "Lalo" Martinez. Photos were taken, and of particular interest, a class photo was taken on the exact spot that our original class picture was taken forty years ago.
A tour of the campus was given by faculty member, Mr. Wadsworth, who gave us a thorough update on Lincoln HIgh and its activities. Included in the tour were visits to the gymnasium and footall field where more photos were taken, especially of those who were on the football, baseball and gymnastic teams of old.
The second half of our day's activities was held at the old San Antonio Winery. Dinner was served, portraits were taken, stories were swapped.
Door prizes were given out, and even some harmonizing was accomplished by the original Four Scores- John Arriola, Fred Chavez, William Arellano, and Domingo Contreras. After forty years they didn't miss a note (ha!).
All in all, a grand time was had by those in attendance. The one word that was repeated over and over - "This was a FUN reunion."
We are working on our 45th. Hope to see you there. John Arriola, Class of Winter 1957
