Bruce Vidal Passes Away He sadly passed away yesterday of a heart attack aged 56.

Bruce was a long standing jock at KIIS-FM Los Angeles from 1982-1996 and will be remembered for his rich, deep voice. He set up his own voiceover company in 1995 and was up until recently working at KELT (92.7 Lite FM) in Riverside, California

Bruces funeral was today in Hollywood.

I am honoured to be one of a few selected to provide airchecks of Bruce which were played to friends at his funeral. This is what I put together briefly -

Bruce Vidal - KIIS FM Los Angeles 8/89 (2.13mb)

Neil...nice aircheck of Bruce...I did swing at KIIS-FM from 85-86 while I was the PD of their sister station in San Diego. I followed Bruce on many a Saturday night. Bruce was a very big guy...easily over 6 feet tall...looking much like a football linebacker. But he was a very nice guy and always offered me encouragement as the new kid from San Diego. Bruce was probably the best "format" jock at KIIS-FM, who doled out quick sound bytes of personality while playing, back then, the "Hot Hits". One of my favorite lines from Bruce was over an intro when he sarcastically said, "102.7 KIIS-FM, with the Hot Hits for Southern California...7:30, I'm Bruce Vidal...and you're not!

I'm sure Bruce has already got a shift on that great station that waits for us all...
