debuts on national television's "The Dorsey Brothers Stage Show"...
1958, the song "Tequila" by The Champs is released and begins its
climb to number one on the chart... The Champs includes among its
members Jim Seals and Dash Croft who later become Seals and Croft...
1958, Jerry Lee Lewis and Ronald J. Hargrave copyright "High School
Confidential," the title track to Lewis' second movie appearance...
1960, "Running Bear" by Johnny Preston hits number one on the charts,
a song penned by the late J.P. Richardson (The Big Bopper)... 1962,
the Twist is banned in Buffalo by Bishop Burke greatly contributing
to the dance craze's popularity... 1964, The Rolling Stones return to
the U.K. upon completion of their first U.S. tour... 1966, Joan Baez
