Can you believe anyone has the gall to put up a page that just tells about their (usually) mundane existence? Of course you can!! And here is mine!!

Rich Gordley Now

I just can't bring myself to say "me" as many times as it would take to get through this page, so you'll pardon me (I know you will) if I speak of myself in the third person.

Rich Gordley is a desktop publishing specialist for a prominent national financal services company and free lance piano tuner, computer programmer, computer fabricator, computer repairman, and general techie handy man. He didn't plan it that way, but it just happened. (His rates are extremely reasonable). He lives with his wonderful, extremely tolerant wife, Deb (who is a gifted oboist and dessert chef) and his 10 year old long haired dachshund.
Stormy has his own page. Also read about another gallant and devoted friend.

Two years ago another dachshund was rescued from a shelter in Oregon and since then Sophie has become a most dominant personality in the household.

Rich is only alive today by the grace and direct intervention of God. He has served Him through music in the Des Moines Iowa Vineyard Christian Fellowship and other venues similar to his service at the Eagles' Nest Christian Fellowship, Chillicothe, Illinois where he was worship leader for 8 years..

Rich and Deb are very active in the Des Moines Community Orchestra where she is principal oboe and he is principal bassoon.

Rich is an avid reader and an IRCnut (catch him on Undernet #dachshundcircus or #Greenroom)..

Rich Gordley Then

Rich was born in Chicago and raised in Mt. Sterling, Illinois, a small farming community just about halfway between Chicago and St. Louis and 35 miles from the Mississippi river. Rich earned his degree in Music Education at Western Illinois University and then served 12 years as a Junior High Band Director in Chillicothe, IL. After suffering burnout and budget reductions, Rich assisted in founding the Chillicothe Alternative School, an enterprise still operated by the ex-Mrs. (the less said about this the better).

Being cast upon the world at an age and of an education which made him nearly unemployable, Rich began to live by his wits which he would not recommend to anyone. He has been an insurance agent (another topic best left unexplored), a quant (one who supplies statistical and mathematical data to a commodities trader), a cook, and a Kelly Girl before meeting Deb and moving to Des Moines.

Probably the most interesting facet of Rich's life is his conversion to Christianity which will be provided on request by email. Rich answers all Email which is not of a solicitation nature.
