This year's reunion is scheduled for Washington DC 10 - 14 November. Our hosts will be Dick & Nancy Powell assisted by
Don & Nora Whalen and Andy & Gray Mansinne. We are excited about the myriad of possibilities to do things and go places
during the special week marked by Veterans Day in our nation's capital. Our initial concept of operation, subject to modification
is as follows:
Tuesday, 10 Nov - Arrival in the DC area and reconnecting reception and dinner at a hotel in the Tysons Corner area of Northern
Virginia.
Wednesday, 11 Nov - Bus to Arlington National Cemetery for ceremonies at the Amphitheater including a Presidential address and
wreath-laying at the Tomb of the Unknowns. Opportunity to visit graves of people of your choice. Bus to the Vietnam Veterams'
Memorial for ceremonies there, Vietnam Women's Memorial, Korean War Memorial, and/or WWII Memorial. Bus to Don and Nora Whalen's
home for dinner. Bus to hotel.
Thursday, 12 Nov - Travel by POV's to Manassas Battlefield Visitors Center for presentations, walk-about, artillery service of
the piece demo, and driving tour. Travel to National Air and Space Museum Udvar-Hazy Center near Dulles airport for lunch,
presentations walk-about and iMax movies. Return to hotel and dinner on our own.
Friday, 13 Nov - Bus to downtown DC museums, such as, National Museum of American History recently renovated, The Newseum
recently opened, Smithsonian, and/or alternative trips to Mount Vernon with its new museum, or the sensational Marine Corps
Museum at Quantico. Final banquet at hotel.
Saturday, 14 Nov - Breakfast on your own and checkout. Any who want to play golf can play at Dick's home course at Heritage
Hunt in Gainsville and be the Powell's guests at their home for dinner.
