Marjorie Rosemarie Perlinger Hayes

27 January 1928 - 16 December 2001

My mother, Marjorie Rosemarie Perlinger Hayes, died suddenly and tragically in an automobile accident on the morning of Sunday, December 16th, 2001.

I've established this page as a memorial to her, and I intend to collect here various information about her life.

The funeral was held at Saint Joan of Arc church on Thursday, December 20th. The funeral mass was concelebrated by four priests and a deacon. Over 500 people signed the guest book, having attended either the rosary the night before or the funeral itself.

We laid her to rest at Mount Olivet, the Denver Archdiocesan cemetery, in a newly constructed masoleum. Mount Olivet is about a mile or two from the family house. The mausoleum is in a beautiful setting, in full view of the front range of the Rocky Mountains.

The family was amazed and gratified by the number of people who took time on a work day to pay their respects. The response from everyone has been fantastic - we are deeply grateful for each of the innumerable kind gestures and words we have received. In particular we are grateful to the many people who flew or drove in from out of state, some traveling great distances to attend. The Union Street neighbors were especially kind, keeping the family fed during those first few difficult days.

The Denver Post published my mother's obituary, which I have included below. The date of the funeral in the obituary is incorrect.

In the coming weeks and months I'll continue to add photos and other items to this page. If you have something you'd like to contribute, by all means let me know and I'll include it.
