Community organizations are important agents of change. They need support. At present this section covers primarily financial support. In the future we will share means of developing healthy group process and how to build a community as opposed to simply building an organizational structure.
We will encourage the development of popular organizations and local community organizing. The social service or charity approach has not been able to reduce poverty worldwide. We need to develop more comprehensive strategies of community organization that can foster local community control--- that actually come from the people themselves and not simply outside planners or technical experts who claim to know what is best for "the poor."
