Waterfalls

Words for Daily Wisdom--Relief
Today is November 14, 2009

Read Proverbs 14 -- People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness.  Proverbs 14:29

At any given time, hundreds of thousands of people in our society are teetering on the edge of rage.  And it's not whom you might expect.  They are young mothers who grow impatient on the freeway.  They are wallfower employees who silently grow disgruntled, and quiet back-row students plotting revenge.  They are apparently religious people who suddenly snap.  News reports frequently detail how otherwise ordinary people in otherwise ordinary circumstances suddenly explode into extrodinary rage.  And the mistakes they make are legion--verbal abuse, physical abuse, even murder.  Anger can be deadly.
The Bible recognizes anger's lethal potential and says we must control it.  "Understanding" is the by-product of someone who has learned to control his or her temper.  We begin to understand that we actually never "lose" our temper; we "choose" it.  No one can "make" us mad.  We choose our response of our own accord.  Asking God for great understanding will help us think about our course of action.

A Word for Today --  Slow anger avoids mistakes.

Today, Lord, forgive me for "choosing" to lose my temper.  Give me great understanding for how to control anger.

Reading through the Bible in 2009     Scripture for the Day
Ezekiel 29:1-30:26, Hebrews 11:32-12:13, Psalm 112:1-10, Proverbs 27:1

Note from the Pastor:
The first of April, 2009 I resigned my pastorate at Calvary Baptist Church.  I have been looking for a small church that was in need of a pastor.  I have found several churches looking for pastors but they are looking for a denominational person.   God has a church for every pastor and a pastor for every church.  All we have to do is to accept the call and will of God.
I ask that each of you ( several 100's each week) that are reading our Web Site pray with me that God will lead me to the church that He as for me.  I am 67 years old and medically retired.  I was told in 2000 after my last heart attack that I would not live more than 3 years.  Well I am still alive and serving the Lord and I will until He is done with me.  I preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified, under the directions of the Holy Spirit.
I thank each of you that are praying with and for me in this matter.
God Bless, Pastor De

Dawn was blessed to have a Stroke! Because of it , she has a new outlook on life. She has purposed to do something’s and decided that some things were just not necessary. She has opted to try to leave the burdens at Jesus feet ands to allow God to direct every day .

Life

By Dawn Waite

Life is a precious gift Given from God above.

Embrace it, Love it, Live it.

Glide with it like the wings of a dove.

Live it with zest, happiness and love.

Don’t waste it with drugs, alcohol and such,

For it’s a precious gift from above

That holds so very, very much.

When you see someone low and crying,

Don’t walk away! Take a Stand!

Give a hug, a smile, a word of encouraging.

Put your arm out and give a hand.

My Mother and Dad said a statement years ago,

And to remember it whoever life leads you to go

“Put God first in all you do and say

And everything else will fall into place and stay.

Next, come family, friends, and yourself.

After this remember your job or work,

For this provides the things for living.

But always remember God will provide your needs

Don’t forget others-be giving. “

Life is a journey, we all must go

With obstacles, challenges, changes, decisions ---- and woes.

For here is a phrase told to me long ago

For you to remember and know

“Your life lies before you

Like a field of pure white snow

Be careful how you trod it, For every step will show.”

So provide on life’s journey

With God. Love in your heart,

And know He will be with you,

Always from the very start.

5:30 PM in the Day

I think the nicest time of Day,

Is around 5:30

Because the children and people are inside,

And every thing is quiet

But the above is not the whole reason,

Because I like 5:30

For where I am on this porch,

The sun has a certain beauty.

As it shines through the trees

It gives one a certain feeling

Of warmth and beauty

At this hour of 5:30

Sermon by Rev. Norma Tennies

NBT Nov.8 209 Ezek 7:1-22

1 The word of the LORD came to me: 2 "Son of man, this is what the Sovereign LORD says to the land of Israel: The end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land. 3 The end is now upon you and I will unleash my anger against you. I will judge you according to your conduct and repay you for all your detestable practices. 4 I will not look on you with pity or spare you; I will surely repay you for your conduct and the detestable practices among you. Then you will know that I am the LORD.

5 "This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Disaster! An unheard-of disaster is coming. 6 The end has come! The end has come! It has roused itself against you. It has come! 7 Doom has come upon you-you who dwell in the land. The time has come, the day is near; there is panic, not joy, upon the mountains. 8 I am about to pour out my wrath on you and spend my anger against you; I will judge you according to your conduct and repay you for all your detestable practices. 9 I will not look on you with pity or spare you; I will repay you in accordance with your conduct and the detestable practices among you. Then you will know that it is I the LORD who strikes the blow.

10 "The day is here! It has come! Doom has burst forth, the rod has budded, arrogance has blossomed! 11 Violence has grown into a rod to punish wickedness; none of the people will be left, none of that crowd-no wealth, nothing of value. 12 The time has come, the day has arrived. Let not the buyer rejoice nor the seller grieve, for wrath is upon the whole crowd. 13 The seller will not recover the land he has sold as long as both of them live, for the vision concerning the whole crowd will not be reversed. Because of their sins, not one of them will preserve his life. 14 Though they blow the trumpet and get everything ready, no one will go into battle, for my wrath is upon the whole crowd.

"Outside is the sword, inside are plague and famine; those in the country will die by the sword, and those in the city will be devoured by famine and plague. 16 All who survive and escape will be in the mountains, moaning like doves of the valleys, each because of his sins. 17 Every hand will go limp, and every knee will become as weak as water. 18 They will put on sackcloth and be clothed with terror. Their faces will be covered with shame and their heads will be shaved. 19 They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will be an unclean thing. Their silver and gold will not be able to save them in the day of the LORD's wrath. They will not satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs with it, for it has made them stumble into sin. 20 They were proud of their beautiful jewelry and used it to make their detestable idols and vile images. Therefore I will turn these into an unclean thing for them. 21 I will hand it all over as plunder to foreigners and as loot to the wicked of the earth, and they will defile it. 22 I will turn my face away from them, and they will desecrate my treasured place; robbers will enter it and desecrate it.

NIV

Ezekiel was given this message for the chosen people. He has chosen them to be the carriers of the Good news. They were to see Jesus, the Son of God that would come through their nation to earth for the purpose of saving the world. Israel had the privilege of God’s hand over them. He promised to bless them as long as they kept to on loving Him. They would be blessed in conjunction with their loyalty to Him.

As long as the United States of America was living the life of one Nation under God, and the people were faithful to Him we have been blessed.

However It is my observation that the once Godly Nation has turned to wicked ways. They are no longer proclaiming that God is Sovereign. The drive to be generous to those coming into our nation and allowing them to bring in their forms of worship, may be politically correct, but it has opened the door for the God of our fathers to be cast aside. Along with declaring that God is dead, we see forging gods that denounce the Creator are increasing in number. Open worship in Wicca. Voodoo is common in our land. The worship of self is prevalent as people seek to do only what feels good to them. Killing of fun or to be a part of a gang is filling our news daily.

Could it be that God is telling the USA the same message? The word of the LORD came to me: 2 "Son of man, this is what the Sovereign LORD says to the land of Israel: The end!

Victorious Living Ministries
Sermon by Rev. DeForest Tennies

Chosen by God

Heb 5:1-4 For every high priest taken from among men is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins. 2 He can have compassion on those who are ignorant and going astray, since he himself is also subject to weakness. 3 Because of this he is required as for the people, so also for himself, to offer sacrifices for sins. 4 And no man takes this honor to himself, but he who is called by God, just as Aaron was. NKJV

Ps 105:15 Saying, "Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm." NKJV

John 15:16-17 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. 17 These things I command you, that you love one another. NKJV

I remember a lady one time that said, “ Let me listen to a preacher for 5 minutes and I will tell you if he/she is God called or mama called. “ How true this is. It only take a minute or two to discover it a minister has truly been called of God. It only takes a few minutes to see if he/she is trying to do the bidding of his/her Father or if they are trying to please man. When we read these Scriptures we see that it is God who calls and it is God who appoints him/her to their position within His Church. Too many of our preachers and teachers are mama called and self appointed and so they try to please man in order to better their position. Christ said, “ Verily, Verily I say they have received their reward.” There is coming a time of rewards and those that are God called will receive their rewards in the presence of God and all His angels. Please note that in Heb. 5:4 it says that no man takes this honor to himself. There is honor in serving God and His Church. God has called some and appointed them as caretakers of His flock. We should take this job seriously and do the will of the Father. Those that have been called and appointed are go forth and bear fruit. What kind of fruit ? Fruit of the souls of men and women. God has called the chooses to be a special person with His anointing of the Holy Spirit. With this calling God instructs the people in Psalm 105:15, “ Do not touch My anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.” I remember years ago as I was preaching at this church, a lady came up for prayer. She had had a stroke and walked with a cane. She said “ Bro. Tennies will you pray for me for my healing. I can’t even dress myself, I have to have a retard dress me.” I was some taken back by her attitude so I took a step back and asked God how to pray. God spoke to me and said that I was not to pray for her healing. I ask God why, and then I remember a sermon that the pastor of the church had preached years before. It was like I was setting hearing the sermon for the first time. The title of the sermon was “ Touch not my anointed.” I asked God, “ Has she touched your anointed ?” I prayed that God would give her grace and give her the strength that she needed. Later on I found out that she had told some stories on the pastor. Shortly after this she had a stroke. I am saying this because each of us need to be very careful about what we say about the people that God chooses to do His work. There was only one Spiritual Leader that never made a mistake and never sinned and the people crucified him. All of your preachers, teachers, and Spiritual leaders today have and will make mistakes. That does not mean that you can bad mouth them or abuse them. It means that you need to pray for them. You need to hold them up before God and leave the matter to Him. In John 15: 17 Christ gives us this command, please note that it is not a request, it is a command, “ That you love one another.” So let us love those that God has called and appointed. Let us pray for them and that the Holy Spirit will continue to lead them in the direction that He would have them go.

May God Bless you this day, Pastor De

The Chapel Worship Service

Call to Worship

Praise God in Word, Song. and Giving.

Scripture Heb 3:6-19

Christ is faithful as a son over God's house. And we are his house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast.

7 So, as the Holy Spirit says:

"Today, if you hear his voice,

8 do not harden your hearts

as you did in the rebellion,

during the time of testing in the desert, where your fathers tested and tried me and for forty years saw what I did. That is why I was angry with that generation, and I said, 'Their hearts are always going astray,

and they have not known my ways.'

So I declared on oath in my anger,

'They shall never enter my rest.'"

See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first. As has just been said:

"Today, if you hear his voice,

do not harden your hearts

as you did in the rebellion."

Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the desert? And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed? So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief. NIV

NO ONE

falls in love by choice,

it is by CHANCE.

No one

stays in love by chance,

 it is by WORK.
And no one

falls out of love by chance,

 it is by CHOICE

 it is by WORK.

He did
something for you,

now do something for Him.

Spread his word,

and you'll be rewarded.

How?

Matthew 10:32...
'Whoever acknowledges Me before men,

I will acknowledge him

before My Father in heaven.

But whoever disowns Me before men,

I will disown him
before My Father in heaven.'
God is going to
shift things around

for you tonight

and let things work

in your favor.
 Do not ignore Him.

You must have
unwavering faith.

God bless you!

Life is all about Choosing.

Heb.3: 13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first. As has just been said:

"Today, if you hear his voice,

do not harden your hearts …

We choose to stay in bed after the alarm rings. We choose to stay up and watch TV late news. No one makes us do it.

Like wise we choose to react to circumstances. We can dwell on the worst or be like Joseph was when His brothers came to him for food. They thought he was dead because of their evil deed. But, Joseph chose to treat them well. He could have had revenge and have them killed, but that would have put their end on his head. God reminds us that we cannot do much about our circumstances but we have the power to change our attitude.

It is reasonable to think that to be corrected by God here is better than to have eternal punishment because we refuse to change our attitude. God will take care of those who have wronged His Children. It will be better for the master of revenge to correctly give judgment than for us to try to be the judge.

Then to think-- With the same wisdom and mercy that we show to others measures the wisdom and mercy that is used against us, when we do wrong. Matt 7:1-6

"Stop judging others, and you will not be judged. 2 For others will treat you as you treat them. Whatever measure you use in judging others, it will be used to measure how you are judged. 3 And why worry about a speck in your friend's eye when you have a log in your own? 4 How can you think of saying, 'Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,' when you can't see past the log in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First get rid of the log from your own eye; then perhaps you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend's eye. N
