Read Proverbs 16 -- Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city. Proverbs 16:32

   The mission of the believer is not too different from that of history's most noted conquerors. We must be determined. Forceful. Inspired. Yet we do not set our sights on triumphing over nations. Our foe is our nature--the sinful nature that is used to getting what it wants. Our weapons of war are patience and self-control. Learning to be patient is the mark of maturity. For example, a baby cries until it gets what is needed. It is impossible for a baby to understand or appreciate the principle of delayed gratification. However, a mature adult learns to control his or her desires and practice patience.

   Self-control allows us to disarm natural urges. Delayed gratification means waiting for sex until marriage. Patience allows us to discipline our children in love, never in anger. Power conquers cities; patience conquers sin. We need not set sail for new-horizons seeking the ultimate conquest. We can merely look into the nearest mirror. It is better to conquer oneself that to conquer an entire city.

A Word for Today -- Power is revealed in self-control.

Today, Lord, I will fight my greatest foe--myself. Make me victorious and self-controlled today.

The first of April, 2009 I resigned my pastorate at Calvary Baptist Church. I have been looking for a small church that was in need of a pastor. I have found several churches looking for pastors but they are looking for a denominational person. God has a church for every pastor and a pastor for every church. All we have to do is to accept the call and will of God.

I ask that each of you ( several 100's each week) that are reading our Web Site pray with me that God will lead me to the church that He as for me. I am 67 years old and medically retired. I was told in 2000 after my last heart attack that I would not live more than 3 years. Well I am still alive and serving the Lord and I will until He is done with me. I preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified, under the directions of the Holy Spirit.

I thank each of you that are praying with and for me in this matter.

A PSALM OF SUMMER

Now it came to pass that spring turned to summer. God's people raised their voices and said:

Recreation is my shepherd; I shall not stay at home;

He maketh me to lie down in a sleeping bag.

He leadeth me down to the interstate each weekend.

He restoreth my suntan; He leadeth me to state parks for comfort's sake.

Even though I stray on the Lord's Day, I will fear no reprimand

For thou art with me, my rod and reel they comfort me.

I anointeth my skin with oil, my gas tank runneth dry;

Surely my trailer shall follow me all the weekends this summer

~He Is God~

He is the First and Last,
The Beginning and the End!

He is the keeper of Creation and the Creator of all!
He is the Architect of the universe and the Manager of all times.
He always was, He always is, and He always will be ...
unmoved, Unchanged, Undefeated, and never Undone!
He was bruised and brought healing!
He was pierced and eased pain!
He was persecuted and brought freedom!
He was dead and brought life!
He is risen and brings power!
He reigns and brings Peace!
The world can't understand him,
The armies can't defeat Him,
The schools can't explain Him, and The leaders can't ignore Him.
Herod couldn't kill Him, The Pharisees couldn't confuse Him, and The people couldn't hold Him!
Nero couldn't crush Him, Hitler couldn't silence Him,
The New Age can't replace Him, and "Oprah" can't explain Him away!
He is light, love, longevity, and Lord.
He is goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, and God.
He is Holy, Righteous, mighty, powerful, and pure.
His ways are right,
His word is eternal,
His will is unchanging, and His mind is on me.
He is my Savior,
He is my guide, and He is my peace!
He is my Joy,
He is my comfort,
He is my Lord, and He rules my life!
I serve Him because His bond is love,
His burden is light, and His goal for me is abundant life.
I follow Him because He is the wisdom of the wise,
the power of the powerful,
the ancient of days, the ruler of rulers, the leader of leaders, the overseer of the overcomers, and is to come. And if that seems impressive to you, try this for size.
His goal is a relationship with ME!
He will never leave me,
never forsake me,
never mislead me,
never forget me,
never overlook me and
never cancel my appointment in His appointment book!
When I fall, He lifts me up!
When I fail, He forgives!
When I am weak, He is strong!
When I am lost, He is the way!
When I am afraid, He is my courage!
When I stumble, He steadies me!
When I am hurt, He heals me!
When I am broken, He mends me!
When I am blind, He leads me!
When I am hungry, He feeds me!
When I face trials, He is with me!
When I face persecution, He shields me!
When I face problems, He comforts me!
When I face loss, He provides for me!
When I face Death, He carries me Home!
He is everything for everybody everywhere, every time, and every way.
He is God, He is faithful. I am His, and He is mine!
My Father in heaven can whip the father of this world.
So, if you're wondering why I feel so secure, understand this...
He said it and that settles it.
God is in control, I am on His side,
and that means all is well with my soul.

Everyday is a blessing for GOD Is!

7/4 ( Local ) Pray for Calvary Baptist church for a new pastor.

10/7 Continue to pray that God will send in the person He wants to pastor this church. Also pray for Pastor De while he is waiting God's reasignment to another church.

11/2 This continues to be a matter of prayer.

7/12 ( E-mail ) Pray for the Church in Kenya. They are praying for revival. Pray that God will sent help to Pastor Amos.

10/7 Continue to pray for the people in Kenya. Many of them are without food.

11/2 Update. The Bible sent 2 months ago finally arrived. We found out that it had been stolen and was hid for over a month. We have sent books for a class scheculed for the first part of Dec. Pray that they will get there.

9/8 ( Local ) Pray for Dawn who is recovering from a stroke.

10/7 Continue to pray for Dawn. She is staying with us for the time being. The Dr. has still not released her to back to her own home.

10/24 Dawn is improving and is staying with the pastor for a while during her recovery.

11/2 Update. Dawn is back home and on her own. Still not driving but doing well. She said to thank everyone for their prayers.

9/10 ( E-mail ) Please pray for Brian he still does not have a job or a place to live. His mother said that she didn't think he was drinking now but has been living in his car. She has just about come to her end. Pray for her as well.

10/7 ( E-mail ) Continue to pray for Connie and her son Brian.

11/2 Update. Connie continues to ask for prayer for Brian.

10/7 ( E-mail ) Pray for Eve and family as they need help in healing from an abusive marriage.

11/2 Please continue to pray for Eve and family.

10/24 (Phone) Pray for Debbie who just lost her husband and her child now has cancer.

10/24 (Local) Pray for Barb. Her husband passed away last evening.

11/2 Barb wants to thank everyone for all their prayers.

10/25 ( E-mail ) Pray for Russ who has cancer. It is a very difficult cancer to treat and he is in much pain and is unable to take food.

Update 11/12 -- Russ has been placed in a Nursing Home and is in much pain. Continue to pray for him and his wife Linda.

10/26 (E-mail ) Pray for Joyce who has just had back surg. due to cronic leg and back pain. Condition is now worse than it was before.

10/27 ( Phone ) Pray for Trish who is scheculed for double by-pass in the morning.

10/28 Update. Trish had a triple by-pass this morning and is doing well.

They said to say thank you for all the prayers.

10/31 (Local) Pray for Maxine who has had sever back pain for over a year. She is going to have back surg. as soon as it can be scheduled. Also pray for her as her husband Duane passed away on Tue.

11/2 ( Local ) Pray for Dorthy who is severly ill. Possible flu.

11/2 ( E-mail ) Pray for Nebojsa & Kaca that they will be reconciled.

11/3 ( Phone ) Pray for Sandy, she just had a heart attack and has elevated sugar.

11/6 (Local ) Pray for Bill who has had cronic leg infection for over a year.

11/11 ( E-mail ) Pray for Mike who has lost his job, wife is in jail and has cancer. There is a real need here so pray for God in intercede.

Praise the Lord for answered Prayer

It is getting cool here in Western NY. We live in an old house and believe me it gets cold here in the winter. Pastor Norma's feet are always cold. So I thought that I would get her a small heater to go by her computer to keep her feet warm ( I have a foot warmer at my computer). I saw one for a reasonable price but did not have the money for it. This past week I felt that I should order one for her. So I ordered it and put in on the store credit card. Now I did not know how I was going to make the payments on it but I felt that this was what the Lord was telling me to do. Yesterday we had a call from a lady in another state, stating that she felt that she should send us some money to help with the heat in the house. She told me how much she was going to send. It was 1 dollar more than the cost of the small heater. Now is that God answering prayer or what. God knows our needs and He answered before we have asked. May God bless you for this gift and return to you a 100 fold. Pastor De

God is moving in a wonderful way here in Western NY and as we enter the New Year of 2009 let us keep Christ " First and Formost " in our life. If we seek first the Kingdom of God and His Rightousness, then all these things will be added unto us. So Keep Christ First.
