The Nevada Stamp Study Society (NSSS) meets the second and fourth Saturday of each month at 10 am in the Sparks Heritage
Museum at Pyramid and Victorian Avenue. There are no meetings in December (we have our club Holiday Party instead).
Parking and meeting entrance are at the rear of the building.

Summer Picnic
This year's picnic was held at Rock Park. Thanks go out to all those who made the event a success:
Chef and park reservation - Dick Dreiling
Coordinator - Barbara Diederichsen
Shopping - Jim Ringer
A big "oops!" goes to me. Next time I'll remember to update to site to include the date and directions.
2006 Greater Reno Stamp and Cover Show
This year's show was held at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nevada. Sixty frames of exhibits including the
Philatelic Foundation's U.S. Fakes and Forgeries were on display. Fourteen dealers provided a variety of material
for the 400 plus show attendees to go through. The US Postal Service had a booth and provided a special
show cancellation. Show covers are still available for $2 each.
Post Boy
The Post Boy is the NSSS monthly newsletter. It includes news, commentary and philatelic articles that cover a range
of topics from philatelic basics to postal history to exhibiting. You can also read the editor's review of philatelic
links on the web or try your hand at the Post Boy quiz. (Click the link to go to the Post Boy Archive.)
Annual Holiday Party
This years holiday party was held December 11th. There was lots of food and of course the holiday spirit of giving
... and taking ... during the gift exchange.

Nevada State Fair
Stamp collectors are welcome at the Nevada State Fair in Reno,
Nevada. Several frames of exhibits
are displayed and members of the Nevada Stamp Study Society volunteer their time to staff a demonstration booth.
State Fair Organizers worked with NSSS volunteers to set up a demonstration
table at the fair. NSSS club members volunteered for 2-3 hour shifts at the table
throughout the fair. Club members handed out stamp packets to kids, talked to
the kids and their parents about the hobby, and pointed out the exhibits. Club
members answered questions about identifying and valuing stamps and handed out fliers with club information as well as information
on the upcoming Greater Reno Stamp and Cover Show.
