THOUGHTS ON GOD
By Renee Rain
Who is GOD? What is GOD? For that
matter, what does the Love of God mean? Some say his love was demonstrated by his son Jesus dieing for us, so that we may
be forgiven & given new life. I feel that that mythos shows that God is willing to give his own life for us. Also that
if you're down there is always resurrection. However, I personally do not agree with the whole Christian religion. In Hinduism,
God's Love is shown by putting his Essence in each creation, in each person. Karma (a part of Hinduism & many other religions)
is one way that justice is done. Reincarnation is also the way we grow & gain experience by being many people in many
situations.(No I cannot prove there is reincarnation, but there are documented cases of children remembering things from a
past life, which details were verified.)
I kind of believe in parts of
a number of religions, but none in their entirety. You may or may not agree with my conceptions of God, but I hope you will
be inspired by some of what is written in this article/this magazine. In my experience, God is a right here God, accessible
to anyone who seeks him sincerely, although not always recognized.
God's Love is shown in all the
various loving relationships we humans can have. He is Father, Mother, Sibling, Lover, Spouse, Friend, Business Partner, Teacher
and even Child to us. If confused about how God can be in the form of child to us, remember that Jesus was that to Mary, &
Krishna
was that to his mother, too. Also, when we nurture the Divine in others, God is in this position. God is also our own Higher
Self, which some call "Christ Self" or, "Buddha Nature". He individualized Himself uniquely in each person's Inner/Highest
Self. We are in God/dess's image. We can rise up to demonstrate God's being through Faith, Love & Will.
At
times I will call God, God/dess, to drive home the truth that God/dess is both male & female.

So let's sum it up-I'll write a section on each of these aspects:
1]God/dess' Love includes Hope & Resurrection.
2]God/dess' Essence is in everyone/thing, is everywhere.
3]Karma is part of his/her Law which is Justice.
4]Reincarnation allows for experience & growth.
5]God/dess is accesible to the sincere seeker, but not always recognized.
6]God/dess is shown in, reflected in all LOVING human relationships.
7]Goddess is also our highest deepest Self, which, by his/her Power & Love applied
is grown.
8]By our Love & Will we can demonstrate the Being of God/dess in the Earth.
9]God/dess is both male & female.
10]God/dess is expressed in varying ways in different religions. At least part
of most religions shows a unique & true aspect of God/dess.
1]GOD/DESS Is The Source of Hope & Resurrection.
The Winter comes & nature
dies or hibernates under layers of ice & snow. Spring comes and flowers & trees become rich with color & scents.
Nature is a cycle of God/dess.
So it is with our lives, we may
go through hell, but end up learning to Love & find Joy because the suffering drew us to God/dess.
The
story of Jesus being beaten & spit upon yet still knowing he is God's Son is a lesson to us that no matter what others
may do to us, we are God's child as well. His resurrection is a poetic symbol for our resurrection into our own heavenly identity,
rising up from our false conditioning, the hurts & meanness of others in our past, into the kindness of God's Heart and
identity as his child. I don't believe in the Bible literally; I just see it as symbolic poetry at best.
2]God/dess' Essence is in everyone/thing, is everywhere.
"I will tell you of the wisdom that leads to immortality; the beginningless
Brahman, which can be called neither being nor nonbeing.
It dwells in all, in every hand and foot and head, in every mouth and eye
and ear in the universe. Without senses itself, it shines through the functioning of the senses. Completely independant, it
supports all things.....
It is both near and far, both within and without every creature, it moves
and is unmoving.
In its subtlety it is beyond comprehension.
It is indivisable, yet appears divided in separate creatures.
Know it to be the Creator, the Perserver, and the Destroyer.
Dwelling in every heart, it is beyond darkness.
It is called the Light of lights, the object and goal of knowledge, and knowledge
itself."
~The Bhagavad Gita chapter 13
3]Karma is part of his/her Law which is Justice.
We learn through EXPERIENCE. Our thoughts, feelings, beliefs,
words and decisions are connected to and help cause, our experience. The interactions of experience, feelings, thoughts, beliefs,
words & decisions creates patterns in our lives. These patterns are karma. In this life, and some believe, in other lives,
we learn through our interactions with life. If we hurt others, we may have to learn how it feels to be hurt. Actually we
all fall into this category at one point of another. Empathy for others is learned through personal experience. This does
not mean that all suffering comes from evil we have done. Sometimes suffering is for our personal growth. Karma means created
patterns, NOT always reward or punishment. The PURPOSE of karma is to learn to CHANGE one’s patterns to good ones from
within and to find God/dess and learn to be able to help others because of what we ourselves have experienced along the way.
4]Reincarnation
allows for experience & growth.
Life is a gift. It is a place to learn & love.
According to many spiritual texts, life on this plane is just as precious as life on other planes, & overlaps with the
spiritual realms. In the physical world, manifesting one’s dreams and goals takes TIME, patience, deliberation. It builds
character and spirit. In other realms, such as in the dream state, things happen in a split second of thinking it. One is
not better than the other, just different.
5]God/dess is accessible to the sincere seeker, but not always recognized.
God/dess exists right in your
very heart, to be found by receptively listening or feeling for him/her by faith.
If you trust in God/dess and want
to live for him/her, listen for Love and Positive Direction with your Intuition. Ways of tuning into God/dess include meditation,
prayer, reading spiritual literature, doing the twelve steps, or doing a celebratory ritual.
Art and ritual can be performed
sacramentally. An example of a sacrament is lighting a candle & incense & letting the light & smell drift up to
Deity with your prayers, as you take in their Spirit. Other rituals can be sacramental too, including reading poetry to God/dess and singing songs & dancing.
Doing good unto others for the
Love of God/dess can also bring you closer to him/her. And learning to care for yourself and nurture yourself can also bring
you closer.
