Why should we verify past lives?
Because, whether or not we are conscious of our past lives,
they are always a part of the building blocks of our present lives - and our future ones. If we become aware of our past lives,
we are better able to understand the patterns of who we are now.The decisions that we make in our present lives can often
subconsciously reflect the choices and events of our past lives. We meet someone who seems so completely familiar that we
have to be friends, or more; we choose a career that reflects the skills that we have carried forward from the past. We sometimes
resemble our past selves.
However, none of these things should be seen as general rules
of reincarnation - they are just sets of clues, and they are not universal. Some doggedly believe that we come back to look
the same, do the same things, be the same type of person: why would we want to do that? That smacks of repeating a failed
grade, if we look at life as a kind of cosmic school!
There are times when our souls may want to head in fresh directions
and create personas that do not carry anything of the past with them: these are usually identified as new souls, though no
soul energy is truly new: they are personas created to be unburdened by past memory and connections. Every individual
has an opportunity to follow the familiar path they have known before, or strike out in new directions. Even when we see preplanning
abound in our lives, we have the right to exert our wills and change plans.
This ability to choose new things is what energizes the universal
soul, and helps it to thrive and grow.
So: whenever you see a list someone has made of indicators about
past lives, see it as a set of clues to help you in your search - but don't use it as rules. Sometimes rigidly following the
list can send you a long way down the wrong path...
So: how DOES one look for clues to
a past life?
No matter what it is, no matter how clear or how faint
a memory or idea, it needs to make sense to you, and it needs to feel, on a gut level, like you're coming home.
That's the simple rule of it all.
One thing more: a number
of us who remember past lives have agreed that it seems we only remember what we can truly handle. So, if you come across
some tough memories, or find you may have led a life that is hard to accept, remember this: something inside of you knows
you can handle it. Trust yourself.
And how does one verify a past life?
By following every clue you can.
The internet is your best source for reincarnational research,
simply because of the search engines that are available. You can type any verbal clues you may have, and see what the
engines turn up. You can search for specific images, look for types of clothing and housing, search the histories of any country
for a remembered event: the possibilities are endless.
If you have a name and location, you can use the same resources
you would use in order to research family history. If you have an idea for an image, you can use image search engines,
such as Google. Or turn to a reincarnation discussion group for advice from others about places to search for records and
verification.
