Game 2 Looks Toronto Blue
World Series - Game 2 Report: The fans in St Louis thought this would be a Red Bird win, but Billy Hamilton thought otherwise. The Cards
scored first in the first on a Barnes RBI, scoring Lave Cross. The Jays responded quickly in the second with a run of their own. Then in the 6th
inning, the Card went ahead with one run as McCarthy connected to bring Al Simmons home. The next inning was rather crucial for the Cards, as the
Jays scored two unearned runs. Hamilton let a routine fly ball from Lloyd Waner bounce of his glove and back to the wall, allowing Ott and Fletcher
score. Alexander pitched a perfect 8th and Buffinton came into close, which is normally Foster's job. Luque was chased out in the 6th inning and
Coombs was brought in for damage control, and actually did his job, but the bats were kept silent for the remainder of the game. Series tied at 1-1.

The Big Show Begins - Cards and Jays keep it Close
World Series - Game 1 Report: The final series of the season has finally begun. The stadium was filled to the brim and the Cards earned their
keep at $120 per ticket. (Anything to make a profit.) The Jays drew first peck with a run in the top of the first, yet the Cards responded with
three runs in the bottom of the first. These were the only runs the Cards would score for the rest of the games. Weyhing committed to two errors
which didn't help his own cause. This gave Al Simmons and Babe Herman the opportunity to drive in the runs. The Jays contiuned to pund out the hits
, but couldn't bring the runs across the plate. Weyhing never made another mistake after the first and actually pitched a complete game. Walter
Johnson pitched 8 quality innings, leaving Coombs and Tesereau to work the 9th. They did a fine job. St Louis leads the series 1-0.

Sixteen Innings of Pure Torture, But Sweet The Victory - Jays Win!
ALCS - Game 7 Report: This would be the longest post season game DBL history! (Can we check with the league historian on that one?) Oh did
the Orioles want this win. Tim Keefe was the starter for the Jays. George Mullin the ignitor for the O's. This was the right formula for a ALCS
Game 7. Did either of them get the decision? NO! A close on one for 8 innings, as the Jays led 2-1. The top of the 9th ining brought no runs for
Toronto, as Mullin pitched a complete nine. The Jays brought in ole faithful in the arm of Rube Foster to close the deal. Goose Goslin had other
ideas. he wanted to see himself make it to the Big Show. In the bottom of the 9th, Goose led the inning with a walk off solo jack to tie the game.
The fans went nuts in the stands. Wilson, Terry and Lindstrom following Goslin, the fans saw only good things to come, especially with no outs on
the board. Yet, Foster made up for his one pitching mistake and retired those big boys in order, 1-2-3. The Jays kept Foster in the game, and the
O's sent Wild Bill Donovan to help spark a O's win. Rube went on pitch the best 7 innings of his career, keeping the O's off the bases. Hack Wilson
finished the day at 0-6. Big bagel! In the 16th inning, the Jays finally broke through on a RBI single from Mel Ott, making Brett the winning run.
Again, the team with the best record finds themselves the spectator of another series this season. Rube Foster is the series MVP who went 2-0,
0.90 ERA, 6 hits, 1 run, 1 earned run, 1 HR, no walks, and 2 K. The Jays move on to face the St Louis Cardinals in the World Series.

Holy Dutch Ovens! Orioles Push A Game 7!
ALCS - Game 6 Report: The excitement in Baltimore began the moment the team returned home to play Game 6. Feelings were running high among
the fans, and morst importantly, the players. There was no indication that the Orange Birds were even worried about the veteran right hander the
Jays would put on the mound, Grover Alexander. With Dutch Reuther pitching, why worry? This was a tight game from beginning to end. Alexander
pitched a complete game with his only mistake being a two-run homer from Bill Terry. Joe DiMaggio was a disappointment with a bagel for the day.
The key for the Jays is DiMaggio. As DiMaggio goes, so do the Blue Jays. The Orioles tie the series at 3-3, and the Jays look forward to their
number pitcher - Tim Keefe - to cinch up the series.

Orioles Making A Series of the ALCS, Push a Game 6
ALCS - Game 5 Report: The Orioles still have the fire. The middle of the lineup came to life, especially Bill Terry, who went 4-5, with a
2b, and a RBI. Hack Wilson hit his first homerun of the post season and drove in two runs. Russ Ford got the run support he has been needing
this post season. Tinsley may have planned this out better than the fans thought, or he was just lucky. Wild Bill Donovan may have got something
started in Game 4. The fans have been chanting, "Let's get this started!" The O's have responded. The Jays just want to close this series out
in Game 6 and are calling on their veteran, Grove Alexander to send them to the big show. Toronto leads the series 3-2.

Cardinals Take the Big Train to the Big Show
ALCS - Game 4 Report: Toronto fans were slightly disappointed at the park today. The day didn't end with the Jays carying the ALCS pennant,
but having to wait another day to get the job done. The Orioles came to the park with nothing else to lose, but with something else to put on the
mound - Wild Bill Donovan. Donovan appeared peridocally during the season, but was never one of the fab four. He was given the chance of saving
the Orioles chances with one game, and he came though. Hodapp provided the majority of the bat work for the team. Tip O'Neil tried to get things
started for the Jays with a solo shot, but the rest of the lineup couldn't follow. Toronto leads the series 3-1.
NLCS - Game 4 Report: Walter Johnson was the hero of the day! The Big Train pitched 8 solid shutout innings, while the relief corp of
Coombs and Tyler worked the same. The Dodgers were able to muster 4 hits, but couldn't bring anything home. The Cardinals defense was just to
solid for game too important as this one. Chaz Baldwin pitched a complete game, only giving up 7 hits and 1 run, which was a very good effort.
This win for the Cardinals was earned, no doubt about it. The fans were happy to see their team win in their own house. Now the Cards await their
fate against the ALCS winner.

Make It Three In A Row, With One More To Go
ALCS - Game 3 Report: Toronto brought the series home in Game 3, and made it a game for the ages for all Jays' fans. This battle of the birds
spilled over the Canadian border and brought a victory for the Jays. Gus Weyhing entered the game as the underdog, as all sports writers were
predicting a Orioles win since the Mullinator was starting Game three. Mullin was probably the O's best pitcher in the final 30 games of the season,
but tonight he was unable to perform in the clutch. In eight innings of work, Mullin allowed 10 hits, 5 earned runs, 2 homers, 2 walks, 2 k's and
2 hit batters. This was not the performance Tinsley was looking for. Still, it was a close game. The Jays were up until the O's tied the game at
three apiece in the top of the 8th. In the bottom of the 8th, the unlikeliest of heroes saved the day. The shortstop, Mickey Doolan, hit a walk-off
two run shot to win the game. It appears there was a balance to all things DBL, as Doolan removed the mark of an error from the fans minds with the
homerun. Blue Jay fans can't wait to make to the park in Game 4. Toronto leads the series 3-0.
NLCS - Game 3 Report: Has the miracle come to an end in LA? Again, the Dodgers started out with the lead in the first five innings. Gomez
was working the plate well against the Cards. Then a costly error in right field (Bob Meusel) cost the Dodgers two runs and the lead. Yet, the
Dodgers resonded well in the 8th and retook the lead, The Cards responded in kind and scored two runs for themselves in the bottom of the 8th.
Lefty Tyler came in to shut the Dodger machine down, and made quick work of it. The Dodgers tried their best as Frisch and Sisler carried the load,
but it wasn't enough to get a Game 4 win. LA may be looking at a quick exit in the NLCS. St. Louis leads the series 3-0.

The Idea Is To Score Runs, Which Greenberg Knows How To Do....
ALCS - Game 2 Report: There is only one thing on the minds of the Orioles' fans - this should have been a Baltimore win. Let's just say
George Derby better find a different route out of the ball park. Dutch Reuther pitched very well to the top of the 9th inning, where he had already
notched one out. Yet, Reuther was showing signs of fatigue, and Tinsley sent Derby to the mound to close it out, or so he thought. It was Derby
who allowed the Jays to score two runs in the ninth, of which one run was from an error on his part. Derby got out of the inning, but the Jays
tied the game up and sent it into extras, territory the Jays have been successful in winning. In the 10th, Ott brought in the winning run in the
form of Tip O'Neil. Joe DiMaggio was not able to provided anything to this game going 0-5. Still, the rest of the lineup coupled with their ace
in the late innings, Rube Foster, was the winning combination in Game 2. Toronto leads the series 2-0 as they head back home.
NLCS - Game 2 Report: Hammerin' Hank Greenberg was the hero of the day for the Cards. Cardinal fans celebrated a Game 2 win as the boys
the Dodgers 13-0. Signs in the stadium were wondering if the Dodgers would like creamcheese with their bagel. Lefty Grove lasted only three innings
before he was chased out. 11 hits and 8 earned runs was the worst showing from Grove all season. Now is not the time for the team to fall apart.
If LA wants to get back in it, the pitching staff better get their act together. As for Hank, 4-5, 2 HR, and 5-RBI was the catalyst for the win.
St Louis leads the series 2-0.

Let the Plucking Begin....
ALCS - Game 1 Report: The battle for the roost begins in the nest of the Orioles. Taking the mound in the game were two Cy Young Award
nominees, Tim Keefe and Russ Ford. Russ wasn't his best on this day. The Jays stuck it to the O's, collecting 9 hits and 8 runs off of the great
Russ Ford. Tinsley was just gritting his teeth with every hit. Although the Jays committed three errors, the O's couldn't exploit the flaw. There
were three double plays, per team. Yet, the top of the Jays lineup, O'Neil, Daly and Brett, saw the ball and sent it to where no one else was
on the field. The O's manager had quite a scare as Stephenson and Manush both had accidents on the field. It looks like both of them will be
sitting out in Game 2. Too bad. Toronto leads the series 1-0.
NLCS - Game 1 Report: Wow. The Cardinals sure know how to light someone up. The Cards kicked down the gate and never looked back as they
trounced the Dodgers 7-2. Ed Morris was not his best, giving up 9 hits and 6 earned in 5 innings of work. Lave Cross went 3-5 with two doubles, a
run and a RBI. Everyone else contibuted except for Babe Herman, who left the game after his at-bat, complaining of a pain in his shoulder. It looks
like he will miss the next game. AS for the Cards, Dolf Luque pitched a complete game, and continues to dazzle. A pitcher who never got the start
for many seasons has finally shown he has the stuff to be a DBL All-Star.

The Cardinals Win! The Cardinals Win!
ALDS - Game 4 Report: It's all she wrote for the KC. The Jays head to their third ever ALCS in their entire existence, which is more than
some teams can say. The Royals manager was looking for a Game 4 as their ace took the mound, Doc White. The game started well for the Royals in the
first inning as the team scored two runs on a Trosky homerun. The Jays replied back with a single run in the second inning. The third inning was
rather uneventful as it was three up, three down. Now the fourth inning was the meltdown for the Doc. The Jays took White for seven hits and seven
runs. There were so many runners going around the bases, it looked like a merry-go-round, except it wasn;t too merry for the Royals. After the
first inning, the Royals couldn't score another run. Jays win and head to the ALCS to face the Orioles, AKA, the battle of the birds.
NLDS - Game 4 Report: If there was ever a game to watch in the NLDS, this was the one. This game was unbelievable. There were lots of hits
and extra innings. Emotions were up and down like a roller coaster. The rally caps were on. A Cy Young Award hopeful, Stan "The Man" Coveleski
took all the hopes and dreams of the Rockies to the mound. Walter "The Big Train" Johnson was the other duelist. The Cardinals drew first blood in
the third inning with a run, but the Rockies quickly answered back in the bottom with a run. In the fifth, the Rockies took the lead, making the
score 3-1. Things were looking up for the Rockies, or so it looked. Over the next four innings, the Cards whittled away and taking the lead at
5-3. Yet, the fire was still in the eyes of the Rockies manager. The Roxs didn't give up as the Cards reliever came in and blew the save, as the
Rockies scored two runs and tied the game up. Nothing like late game heroics. Bring on the 10th! The 10th inning was the only one needed. As St.
Louis had the opportunity to blow a save, the Colorado reliever did the same thing. McGinnity came in gave up a run, which was all that the
Cardinals needed to win. The Cards win the series 3-1.

Kansas City and Colorado Face Elimination
ALDS - Game 3 Report: Toronto was happy to bring things home, so the fans could see their favorite team win the right to the ALCS. The Royals
thought the eookie Newsom would be able to handle the Jays, and he actually did, until the critical mistake in the 7th inning. This was the moment
the rookie for the Jays had his hero moment. Elbie Fletcher hit the tie breaking home run. The crowd in the Skydome went just wild. KC quickly
vacated the dugout to get ready for the next day. Toronto leads 2-1.
NLDS - Game 3 Report: In an unexpected move, the Cardinals called on the lefty Reb Russell to start Game 3. Russell spent the majority of
the season working out of the bullpen. It is kind of interesting Foreman called on the lefty. Could it be the Rockies struggled more against the
left handed variety? Maybe. The Rockies could only muster 6 hits, of which only one was a Jennings hit. Russell pitched eight innings of work
and allowed no runs, not too bad for his first post-season start. St Louis leads 2-1.

Simmons Short A Cycle with a Single, Helps Cards Win Game 2
ALDS - Game 2 Report: Pitcher Dave Davenport did not disappoint. In eight innings of work, Davenport scattered five hits, struck out three,
walked none, and allowed only one earned run. The Jays could not get anywhere at the plate in this game. Eddie Collins was the player of the day
going 4-4 with a triple and 3 RBIs. Now why didn't he play like this during the regualr season? Hadley had some control issues walking 3 and
throwing a wild pitch. KC ties the series up 1-1.
NLDS - Game 2 Report: The Rockies may have to get back to the basics in this series, like catching the ball. Three errors were committed
on the field and Smokey Joe got smoked. Al Simmons was just amazing at the plate and ended the day only a single short of a cycle. Simmons also
provided 75% of the run production. Just amazing. The Rockies really wanted to win this one, but it seems the boys couldn't handle the pressure.
The Skipper doesn't want to see this one slipp away. Series is tied 1-1.
