12-27-2005 Doctoring in Austin

Tuesday, December 27, I slept in after staying up late to watch Bridget Jones sequel. After breakfast and showers we headed in to Austin in sunny, 64-degree weather. We stopped at Target, Wal-Mart and Home Depot, finally getting all of the stuff on our list. Next we had lunch at The Tea House. I had the #4 lunch special-Chicken Almond Ding (known in some restaurants as 'Chicken Almandine'!) We stopped at Einstein Brothers Bagels to get a Dallas Morning News. We had 45 minutes after lunch to get to 35th Street and Medical Parkway for my 2:30 appointment. Dr. M and staff gave me a warm welcome and wanted to hear all about our travels. For almost 25 years I've known them and they are thrilled with our traveling adventures. I got a clean bill of health and kudos from Dr. M for my fitness.

Bob got an oil change while I was doctoring and was waiting by the curb when I emerged. We're getting good at multi-tasking as we make the 60-mile round trip into Austin. When we got back home around 4:00 we had a surprise--new neighbors streetside! They are very close, backed up here to our big pecan tree. We read the DMN and worked puzzles. The high today was 76. This weather is great.

It's 5:55 p.m. and 71.6 degrees.
