So I hooked up to the modem and did a slow upload of my journal pages since October 9 along with all of the pictures. Then I did a molasses-slow download of my email. By the time the laundry was done and folded all of my mail was downloaded. But when I tried to shut off the PC it got hung up. Even a reboot wouldn't turn it off. It was really hung up. So we took it home and left it plugged in to give it time to "think." We headed out for lunch after stowing the laundry.
By general consensus we went back to Lanna's Thai Restaurant. We were just about the only people there today. I had Thai Iced Coffee that came in a huge tea glass. Bob had Jasmine Tea again. I tried Fried Rice with Chicken and veges while Bob opted for the lunch special; pork, ginger, veges and 'ear mushrooms.' We split an appetizer of Summer Rolls with a mint and a peanut sauce on the side. Very tasty.
We tried to find Tulsa Antique Mall on Memorial. It must have gone out of business. We saw the sign on a marquis at a shopping center but the Mall was nowhere to be found. So we went east on 71st to Wal-Mart for groceries and a new egg carton top for our mattress. We got a Dallas Morning News at QT on Pine on our way home. We can see the front clearing on the western horizon so the rain is over for today. But it is still chilly and windy.
Back home Bob got the laptop to shut down. I was so thankful. I was having visions of reloading MSOffice and losing all of my address files (I definitely need to back those up.) I have the rest of my C: drive backed up but it's been over a year since I backed up my "Contacts" list in MSOffice. We've met a lot of new people on the road this past year and I don't have their addresses, emails and phone numbers anywhere else.
It's 57.1 degrees and 5:30 p.m. I wonder if we'll have any trick-or-treaters tonight. Around 7:00 we had a knock on the door. One young boy about 8 or 9 was standing there in costume. We didn't even have any candy in the house. So I wrapped up two Halloween cookies and gave him those. Next year I'll be more prepared! Last year we were at my folk’s house and I didn't have to think about it.
