10-02-2005 La Bamba Revisited

Sunday, October 2, I was up at 8:00. The weekend warriors on both sides of us left by mid-morning. The fire pit was still burning from the huge telephone pole-sized log the night before. It is hot and humid today. I read "Five People You Meet In Heaven" that Patti had lent to us. I packed up some clothes I can no longer wear for Goodwill. It felt good to rearrange my drawers and closets. We turned the A/C on. It's just too hot. The Osage River is down about 15 feet.

Around 2:00 we went to La Bamba. Bob had Fajitas Vallarta-grilled Tilapia, Shrimp, Crab and Scallops. Yum! I had grilled Tilapia. They give you two huge filets. We both took 'To Go Boxes' home. We got a paper on the way. The Post had a 5-star Sudoku puzzle. Maybe later I'll tackle that.

Around 6:00 we headed to Tappels'. They were doing hard labor all day; digging holes for their deck footings, mixing and pouring concrete, and cutting down trees. We enjoyed beverages and cool breezes on the deck. I downloaded my mail. We left around 9:15. It was a gorgeous evening. Bright stars filled the sky. Back home we attacked the puzzles. The last six boxes of the Sudoku I messed up. Arggh!

It's 12 midnight and 74.0 degrees.
