09-12-2005 Golf in the Sun at Redfield

Monday, September 12, we headed to Redfield by 8:45. It was nice to see Ed and Linda again. The course is wet and the tee box grass is long. On top of that the greens are slow as molasses. At least I had all of my excuses lined up. But I did hit the ball pretty well. The cat is still living under the park bench on hole #3. It is a lot warmer (in the 90's) than the last time we played here in the rain last October with these guys.

We had lunch at Bogey's afterwards and heard all about Ed and Linda's plans to build a new home and move to Florida just northeast of Tampa. We were back home by 3:30 or 4:00. We read the Sunday paper, worked and on-line Sudoku and had showers. We went over to Tappels around 7:00. Bernie and Pattie were washing cars with their new power washer. We rolled up right behind Patti's Jeep and got a courtesy wash. We needed it after our journey through the buggy cornfields of Illinois.

Bernie had hunted for a matching fourth Corning plate for me so I looked at his on-line sites and sure enough there was our dinner plate. The shipping is more than the plate. When I got home I checked and found that I only have three salad plates, as well as three dinner plates, so I need to find one of each size. Their neighbors Kathy and Mackenzie came by and visited on the deck with us.

They guys planned their Dufus and Clark Expedition for tomorrow. Bernie is taking off work; maybe Wednesday too if it doesn't rain. The gals are shopping. Bob and I were home by 10:00. We watched the Prison Break we had recorded on Fox but the network had some kind of transmission issues making most of it indecipherable.

It's 10:50 p.m. and 76.5 degrees.
