08-08-2005 Kleber Lake, Tower, MI

Monday, August 8, it was cool sleeping last night under a pile of covers. I got up early and worked on my Mackinac Island pictures and journal. We worked crosswords outside after breakfast until Paul and Marge joined us and we chatted about our Mackinac trip. We kept moving our lawn chairs into the shade as the sun chased us towards the neighbors lot. Shirley came by and we had a photo opportunity but Tom had already gone off to cut grass.

Bob and I went in and had leftover pizza for lunch. Then we loaded the boat and went over to Kleber Lake near Tower to fish. They had a nice ramp but it was a shallow entry. Bob cuaght 3 or 4 Northern Pike and I was skunked except for what I thought must have been a Pike that came up and hit my buzz bait like a freight train and snapped it off. Two more boats arrived and two jet skis. We left around 7:45. Another couple with a little girl was just ramping out at the same time. When the gal saw our wheels on the boat that Bob flipped down into the water to get us off the ramp she said "Folks down in Alabama would e real impressed by that!"

Back home we sat out at Paul and Marge's with Tom and Shirley too until 10:15. We had snacks and showers and hit the hay.
