It started sprinkling as we got our clubs and carts out of the truck and we wondered if we made a big mistake. But it quickly cleared up and we enjoyed a cool walk on this breezy, 76-degree day. We were alone on the first nine (they started us on number 10) and we played quickly. But they started four or five groups ahead of us on the first hole so our back nine was interrupted by a long wait. We joined up with a mother and her son who were just playing the front nine. She lived across the road on the River and he was home on leave from the Marines, based in California.
I played better on our second nine after having a complete melt-down on holes 16 and 17. Bob played better on our first nine. We were done by 4:15; too early for Vivio's. So we went to The Brown Trout and ordered a pizza. They actually have really good pizza. We've wanted to try it. Can't say much for the service there however.
We stopped at Ken's Village Market for produce, etc. and were home by 6:15. We had a crabby checker in Ken's. When we asked for a paper she pointed behind her with a grunt. Bob had to walk way around all of the checkout lanes to get back there to get one. She could have leaned over and got us one...But NOOOO! Then when I asked her where the Indian River Post Office was you would have thought I asked her to carry 500 pounds a thousand miles. With a great effort she told us to take a left at the totem pole.
Back home we read the paper and watched CSI. Around 10:15 it started raining and sounded cozy on the roof of the RV.
It's 10:25 p.m. and 63.9 degrees.
