07-26-2005 Flies, Motors and Laptops

Tuesday, July 26, we were up later than we like to admit after our late night visit last night. It rained most of the night and really cooled off. We lounged after breakfast. Our neighbors returned with their truck all fixed. Tom and Shirley lent them their truck to go pick it up late this morning. It's nice how RVers come to your rescue so quickly.

I caught up on my journaling all morning. Bob read some and then tied some flies. After we had a lunch of our leftover Indo China Gardens entrees from yesterday, he went out and started up the 5hp motor. It's been idle for a while and he wanted to see if it would turn over. He stuck it in our bucket and shut it off after it fired on the second try. We may put the boat in the Cheboygan River tomorrow.

I worked on 'renaming' all of my picture files on the PC. They were all in the alphabet soup mode that comes out of the camera. I got about half way done. Around 5:00 after a cool front came through I put on jean and long sleeves. It felt great when the temperature dropped to 65 degrees! At 6:30 I went to the office and uploaded journal pages and got my mail. They were out of newspapers at the office by this time. I sent an email to Carla wishing her a happy birthday since the phone has 'no service' on the readout this afternoon. I guess it's the clouds. She was still at her desk at work. Says she's celebrating later in the week. On the way back home I found Tom practicing his banjo. He was playing Ragtime Annie and it sounded great.

It's 8:00 p.m. and 63.9 degrees. We must have finally gotten far enough north. I think the rest of the country is still sweltering in the heat.
