07-15-2005 Idle in Indian River

Friday, July 15, a nice breeze is blowing in the early morning but you can already tell it's going to be hot again today. We sat outside before breakfast. Afterwards I did some paperwork and filing. Bob got all of his stuff out and put new grips on my Divine 9 and 5-wood. Around 2:00 we rallied and went in to town for lunch at Christopher's Cafe; one more Indian River eatery we can scratch off of our list. Bob had a salad and I had a sandwich that were both pretty average. We got a paper on the sidewalk and went to the Village Market. They have some nice looking produce and we enjoyed going through this local market. We noticed Indian River's Craft Festival was going on downtown but it didn't look very big. I heard some of the RVers talking about it.

Back home we sat out and read the paper while we sipped a Smirnoff. There is lots of activity in the campground today. Our neighbor Marge 'stuck her head over the fence' to tell us about a nearby golf course that the guy on the other side of them suggested. We'll have to check it out. Around 6:30 I went to the office with the laptop. It took an hour and a half but I got my journal storage space on the website sorted out. The owner, Don was down there and said "The Big 3" (employers in Michigan; autoworkers I'm sure) have vacation this week so things are busy. It was kind of a low-key day for us. It's nice to relax once in a while.

Jack Nicklaus bowed out at St. Andrews today for the final time. Will he forever be 'the greatest golfer of all time?' Or will Bob or I surpass him:-)

It's 11:55 p.m. and 75.1 degrees. Bob turned the A/C on before going to bed. It is just too muggy.
