Wednesday, July 13, I woke up early at 6:30. Our campsite is a lot sunnier here so you can tell when the sun is up. I took my coffee and the camera for a stroll. I wanted to snap this picture of "Max Shack." We're guessing it's a mini-teardrop trailer for the dog! I was sorry to see the guitar-playing motorcycle guy left already this morning. I came back and camped out in a lawn chair with my book until 9:00. I'm reading Nancy Kress's "Brainrose." I discovered this talented female sci-fi writer in a Laundromat bookshelf in the campground in Leesville, LA. We look for her works in all our bookstore roaming. We found this recently in Kalamazoo and I'm really enjoying it.It is much cooler this morning. I mini-front came through and cooled things off a bit. We turned the A/C off before breakfast. We couldn't decide if we had enough energy to play golf so we took the boat off of the truck, cleaned our clubs and drove in to Cheboygan. We found the Chamber of Commerce on Main Street. A very informative young lady pointed out all the resources we needed for the area. We walked down the street and had lunch at Mulligan's "Great Food, Bad Shots." Bob had an Olive Burger and I had a Roasted Veges and Goat Cheese Sandwich with chicken soup. This was an upscale eatery with great golf art on the walls.
Our next stop was Wal-Mart in Cheboygan. We were having Wal-Mart withdrawal symptoms here in Michigan. We got all the stuff we've been out of and got out of there for $107.00. Back home we sat outside and read the paper until about 6:30, completely blowing off the golf. There is something of a breeze but it is incredibly muggy again. We came inside and turned the A/C back on. I'm planning to go down to the office and upload journal pages and get my email. This wi-fi better work; I'm weeks behind. Don just drove by on his tractor pulling a hayride wagon full of kids--"The Happy Camper Express!"
The wi-fi works great. I spent an hour or better getting lots of stuff done. Patti and I got to 'chat' for quite a while. Maybe now I can get my journal pages fixed after I maxed out the space with my photos. It takes a while to change to a new webstorage space (transparent to all of you readers out there, hopefully) so I'm glad to have a place where I can work on it at my leisure. Don, the owner, came by and we chatted for a while. This is their 8th season here. The park is over 40 years old but was abandoned for a while. Don and Nancy have really done some renovating after they purchased it. It's one of our favorite camp sites.
It's 7:03 p.m. and 86.6 degrees.
