Tuesday, May 31, where in the world did May go? I was up until almost 2:00 a.m. last night feverishly trying to open a new Journal page and upload everything to the Web. Can't believe we're leaving Wednesday and I'll lose this wi-fi! I still was up by 8:30 this morning. Bob checked the air in the tires while I cleaned up the breakfast dishes. One of our valve stem replacements at Wal-Mart is leaking again. We may have to deal with that before we blast out of here. There was an older couple camped next to us all weekend in a Holiday Rambler 5th wheel. But they were never here. We presumed they had family in the Nashville area and spent the weekend visiting. This morning they packed up and left. We guessed their age to be 80 to 85. I marveled at the great shape they were in. They took great care to do everything step-by-step, very deliverately so they wouldn't mess up. It got me to wondering how old will we be before we hang up our gypsy lifestyle. We headed to Smyrna to play the municipal golf course there. The Red tees were too short for me at 4,526 yards so I played the Orange tees (otherwise known as the Women's Championship tees) at 5,283 and a slope of 118. That should be a good length for me but I played poorly. It had more to do with three-putting six or seven greens I think. But Bob played well, especially on the back nine. There was quite a breeze today but we were glad to have slightly overcast skies since the high was 82 and it was kind of humid. The course was very walkable but there was quite a hike under the road and through a tunnel between 10 and 11. We still walked it in three hours and twenty minutes.
Afterwards we made a beeline for The Famous Chinese Restaurant Buffet where we ate last time in Smyrna. That place is great but buffets are dangerous when you're really hungry after golf. On the way out of town we went through a deluxe touchless car wash that was tall enough to accommodate The Beast. We've been parking under a tree here at Countryside Resort and the truck was a mess. Back home we relaxed with the paper and took showers after the water got hot. I talked to my sister after her first day back at work. Sounds like she survived it. It's always easy to underestimate how tired you'll be when you go back.
We watched TV and read some. I'm getting my last journal page ready to upload. Rain is forecast for tomorrow so we may not be going anywhere.
It's 9:39 p.m. and 70.2 degrees. We really do need to move north or it will be too hot here.
