05-26-2005 Strike While the Wireless is Hot!

Thursday, May 26, since I could barely stay awake last night after our exhausting round of golf I was up at the crack of dawn (for an old retired lady, anyway) around 5:20 a.m. I decided to check out the wi-fi and see if it was clear. I'll be darned somebody was hogging it at that time of morning. But then around 6:30 it cleared up and stayed that way until noon. I got tons of stuff caught up. I even got an email from Glenda from her new Dell PC! We took a break for breakfast. It was a chilly 53 degrees when I got up but soon turned into another gorgeous 75 degree day with mile-high blue skies. Our nearest neighbors streetside pulled out around 10:00 or so.

Around 2:00 we went to Gondola in Lebanon and had ravioli and lasagna. Got a paper from a cranky guy at the Texaco station and went back home to relax and read. I went up to the office to get on the modem and pay a bill that was due. Several new campers arrived. They are full except for two water and electric only sites this weekend. I had a voice mail from Jean in Austin when I recharged my phone after realizing it was dead. She's actually in West Texas heading towards Lubbock clock hunting and wanted to know about our favorite Lubbock Antique Mall. I called her back when my phone was better but just got her voice mail. It's funny how just the sound of someone's voice on your voice mail can make you homesick. I hope she has good luck on her hunting trip. She sent a nice email that I finally got while the wireless was working this morning so I got caught up on all of the 'local' news.

Bob and I sat out on this picture perfect day. Caroline came by with Angel and Spirit so we got a dog fix. Bob spotted a Baltimore Race in the tree across the road from us. We got the binoculars out and followed their bright golden colors as they headed clear across the campground with the bugs they were picking off the tree. We came in to watch dual episodes of Blue Collar TV.

It's 6:53 p.m. and 72.9 degrees.
