A shorter travel trailer than ours with a rear living floor plan and two slides is parked down the way today; a Springdale or Sunhitcher or something. We never could find a rear living that size when we were looking. Bob joined me and we sat out in the lawn chairs this morning. A cooler breeze is blowing so we opened the windows and turned off the AC before breakfast. By 10:00 we headed south on 231 to a 200-dealer flea market held every Saturday across from Cedars of Lebanon State Park. We finally found a parking spot big enough for The Beast. We roamed under four or five large pavilions as storm clouds gathered. It poured rain as we viewed the booths in the last row.
We found CD's, books, duct tape, fishing lures and some fresh tomatoes and fruit. A young guy pulled on my backpack as I was looking at something. When I turned around quickly he hurried away to the next aisle. I moved over to where Bob was buying some lures and stared the guy down. His eyes kept darting back at us. I was annoyed but didn't think anymore about it. Ten minutes later as we left that last tent and headed towards the truck, three or four guys were struggling to subdue someone next to a row of parked cars. There was a lot of yelling and scuffling. Bob pointed out that it was that same guy. It seems the local flea market dealers had apprehended him; presumably for stealing. All I know is I felt uneasy for several hours and couldn't escape the feeling of being an almost-victim.
We bought some produce down by all of the livestock vendors (roosters, chickens, ducks, etc.) Then we left in a slight sprinkle. After the rains passed the temps dropped twenty degrees. It felt great. We stopped at an antique store on 231 but found no treasures. Just north of I-40 on 231 we ate at our favorite Demo's. I had Chili Spaghetti, a very refreshingly northern version of Chili Mac! Bob had spaghetti with the marinara sauce. We left and took our movie's back and stopped at Kroger’s for a few necessities and a paper.
We were back home by 2:30 where we found the RV Park full. It's odd how this place fills up on the weekends. We watched the EDS Byron Nelson Tournament from Dallas and read the paper. We had a light dinner of soup and salad. Then I read for a few hours.
It's 9:30 p.m. and a cool 64.1 degrees.
