A Safari Class A down the way has a lion and lioness air-brushed on the back of their RV. It's a very nicely done mural and reminded me of Randy; our neighbor in Sappington in South St. Louis when we were first married. He did some very artistic scenes on panel vans back in the hippy days. Anyway, the lady who owned the RV was sitting out on the picnic table letting her hair blow dry in the wind. We chatted about the weather for a few minutes. Just across from our trailer is a Suncruiser by Itasca with an Escapees Club sticker on their front door. It's the first one I've seen since we've been on the road. I've seen that couple out walking but never when I've been out.
As I was sitting out in a lawn chair drinking my coffee, a small dog went down the hill. The lady ran back to her trailer and got an afghan and the guy gently laid the dog in her arms on the afghan and they carried it back home. She called out to me when I waved that they had a sick puppy. I wondered what happened to the poor thing.
After breakfast we toted the laundry over to the laundry room. We put a load in each of the four washers and sat outside. I walked back home to get one of our lawn chairs since there was only one over there. Just as we were about to wrap it all up and take our last load out of one of the three big commercial dryers, the couple who lives here and does maintenance and works in the office showed up. I guess 12:30 was THE time they cleaned the laundry and bath house. The guy snuck up behind me and scared the bejezus out of me. Then he proceeds to take covers off of the dryers and vacuum out the lint with all of my laundry sitting right there on the folding tables. I finally went outside as it was too small in there with him and his vacuum cleaner sprawled all over the floor. Then she goes in to clean and comes out with my laundry soap, quarters, etc. and says "Did you forget these?" I gritted my teeth and said "No, I was chased out before I was quite done." Five more minutes and we would've been out of there. Note to self: no laundry on Wednesday at 12:30!
We went home and stashed the laundry, cleaned up (high of 88 degrees today and the laundry was a sweat box--that may have contributed to by crankiness!) By this time we were starving so we headed to China Buffet. This time we knew all of our favorites. We stopped in Betty's Used Books nearby and found three paperbacks. They have a 2-for-1 exchange so we'll have to bring some in that we've read. We got a paper at the Shell station next door and went back home. Bob turned the AC on in The Beauty and we 'chilled out' reading the paper. He went to the pond to try his luck and I worked on my journal and downloaded pictures.
A huge 5th wheel SURV pulled in at 7:35 with very little daylight remaining. It was the biggest one we had ever seen. They were a younger couple. We never got to see what kind of 'toy' they had in their garage part in the back end. We watched the tube and read some this evening.
It's 10:47 p.m. and 72.2 degrees
