Bob and I had a leisurely morning. It is really warm today; will probably make 80 degrees. Around 1:00 we headed out. We stopped at the office first to see if we could stay clear through Memorial weekend. At first she indicated we'd have to change camp sites but then the owner, Caroline, came in with Angel, the black mini-dachshund, and Spirit, the Corgi. She said to just switch the people who had reservations for Memorial weekend to another site and we could stay put. On Hallelujah! Caroline said this was her first long-haired dachshund. She lost her older one in October and got Angel in November. I just wanted to take the cute little puppy home.
Caroline's husband asked if we were staying longer because we hadn't seen it all yet. We said, 'No, we're just tire of moving.' He said they did this for a while until he learned you can't really afford to move all of the time. Now he owns an RV park. He said a reverend was in the site on the next row from us. They went to church this morning and missed the check-out time. So an older Class A he sent to that site had to come back to the office and circle around again. He gave them the site next to us instead. They have a cute white dog and a cat that paces along the front window of their motor coach. Their license plate says Florida. We paid for another week and she had a Sunday paper on the counter that she sold to us. I got my dog fix and left. We went to downtown Lebanon but only found one eclectic shop open (the guy had just opened up as e walked up.)
With no other shops open, we went in search of food. Bob saw "China Buffet-Mongolian BBQ" and we thought of the Mongolian BBQ in Austin that we like so much. So we stopped in to give it a try. And they really did have the gigantic wok to cook the meats and veges you choose on the spot. But we opted for their 3-line buffet spread. It was really great for $6.95 a person. They had chicken fixed a dozen ways; one better than the other. My three favorites were champagne, honey and peanut butter chicken. I had a great piece of salmon and also tried the Mongolian Pork. I was maxed out on protein; Atkins would have been proud. But I ate a peck of crispy green beans. And their cucumbers were marinated in a to-die-for oil and herb dressing. They had an array of pretty desserts but I kept it down to one macaroon and a pastry-like cookie. Oolong tea topped it off and I was in heaven.
Back home we watched Vijay Singh defeat Jim Furyk in extra holes while Sergio Garcia folded with a six-shot lead. After golf we took the laptop to the office to renew and download our virus protection software that was expiring this week. We found a campground with modem just in time. Wireless would have been faster but we take what we can get. Back home we caught Part 2 of Miss Marple Mystery on PBS. It is really hot this evening. We have the Fantastic vent on and it's still hot in here. I called Mom and Dad. Sounds like she had a nice Mother's Day.
It's 11:20 P.M. AND 69.5 degrees (Mom says it's still 74 degrees in St. Louis!)
