April 29, 2006–Spring Work Day at Wisconsin Lions Camp

We are organizing a bus trip to Wisconsin Lions Camp–Sunday, July 23, 2006-Plan Ahead!

Lions Camp, located in central Wisconsin, is a project of the Wisconsin Lions Foundation. Accredited by the American Camping Association, it provides camping experience at no cost to visually handicapped children and adults from Wisconsin. Lions Camp offers quality camping and outdoor recreational activity. Programs are individualized; there are separate sessions for children, youths, and adults. The Lions Camp also has programs to accommodate multiply handicapped blind children. Family camp sessions are also available in the spring and fall. Camp facilities available for rental by special population groups. Contact the camp for year round program information.

The Lions of Wisconsin are comprised of 580 individual clubs with a combined membership of 21,700 Lions. Wisconsin is one multiple district of Lions Clubs International , which has close to 46,000 clubs in 191 countries or geographical areas. There are close to 1.4 million Lions worldwide.  The state office is located in Stevens Point and is overseen by Council Chairman Georgia Lutz, PDG.

The Lions operate the Wisconsin Lions Foundation which is located in Rosholt on the Wisconsin Lions Camp property. The foundation carries out all the statewide projects for the Lions, highlighted by the camp for blind, deaf, and cognitively disabled children and now, serving diabetic children.

The Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin is an affiliated Lions organization for the Wisconsin Lions of Multiple District 27 and is located in Madison. The Eye Bank is governed by a board of directors that includes representatives from all 10 districts within Multiple District 27.
