
Quasrars, assumed to be the bright cores of young galaxies. So, they are typically found in massive galaxies as in the picture on the right. This quasar on the left and center was discovered not too long ago, but unlike typical QSO’s, deep CCD imaging does not reveal a galaxy. All we see is a small cloud of material that isn’t massive enough to produce a quasar. Current theories are this is the result of a dark galaxy interaction, or possible a rogue super massive black hole. More investigation is required.
