I am an incest survivor who experienced sexual abuse for most of my childhood. Although other persons knew about the abuse, it continued. Somehow then, I learned about the love of God, and so survived that nightmare of my life. As an adult, I struggled to find wholeness. I spent over 13 years in various forms of counseling and psychotherapy. I got better, but I was not healed. The urgency of my need increased when I had to become the caregiver of my perpetrator, my father, who was gravely ill, vegetative, and finally died after 23 months. Gradually, I turned to my faith in Jesus. In the process of time of about 1 1/2 years, through prayer and Bible reading, I found Jesus to be my Savior, Wonderful Counselor, and Healer.
