Custom order Cathedral Window quilts, designed especially for you or your reenacting unit.

These quilts are made the old-fashioned way, one at a time and by hand. No machine stitching shows on either the front or backs of the finished quilt. The folded technique used in the creation of these quilts gives them a very dramatic appearance. You may select your fabric colors, and up to six of your favorite photos to surround the centerpiece design. The center design may contain either written text as in the Union quilt, or fabric as in the Confederate quilt.

Because these quilts are made one at a time, please allow six weeks from the date of order. The finished quilt measures approximately 62x62. Price $525.00 plus shipping of $12.00.

This Soldier's Quilt, or "Cot" Quilt as they were sometimes called is a replica of those once used by civil war soldiers. True to the times, this simple 9-patch design is traditionally patterned in 100% cotton civil war reproduction fabric. Originally referred to as 'cot' quilts because they were made specifically to fit the length of the soldier's cot (if he was lucky enough to have one!). The quilt is backed with 100% cotton fabric and, just like the originals, has been machine quilted on low-loft batting with biege cotton thread in a stippling pattern (an all-over meandering line that never crosses over itself). This quilt has been made to be used and enjoyed - either on the reenactor's bed, or on the ground next to the campfire. It is completely acceptable for this quilt to be machine washed and dried on a normal setting.
