Silverton from the slopes of Grand Turk Mt.- Yes, a lot of trackage was altered to deal with space constraints and traffic increases. I was pretty unhappy with having to do this originally, but after the backdrop was painted, I feel it does do a good job of capturing the spirit of the place. I also benefit from the fact that local politicians have restricted the Million-Dollar Highway to cars and trucks of less than 2.5 tons in order to save on road repair costs. Needless to say, this benefit to the taxpayers also resulted in much local freight and passenger traffic being captive to the Silverton Union and D&RGW RRs.
