Sunday February 15th, 1998 CE
I spent the day in downtown Los Angeles in Kerian's old Datsun car for the made-for-TV movie The Sky Is On Fire. It is unlikely I can be spotted two cars behind the car of actress Jo Anderson while pedestrians are fleeing (later added computer generated) really pissed off hornets and such. At one point they didn't need my or another two cars, so we were parked around the corner where I just laid back the seat and while waiting for the car to be needed again, I slept for about two or three hours for my pay…
In May and June of 1999 it aired (or was released in theatres) in Sweden and Denmark. Whoopee.
It was on this project that I would learn that sleeping is an intergral part of background work. At the local Wal-Mart I purchased a little plastic lounger for $8.88 and took it to such shoots as Inherit the Wind and such, as many times we're just sitting around Extras' Holding waiting to be placed.
Update: Tuesday July 11, 2000 CE…
As mentioned, my sequence was filmed Sunday February 15th, 1998.
During tonight's repeat of Dharma & Greg which I'd not seen, there was a commercial for The Sky Is On Fire for its network premiere airing Saturday July 15th, 2000 on ABC. I was amazed. I thought they'd simply forgotten all about it.
Taped it, viewed it, I'm not visible (no biggie)…
