On the February 11th, 2005 Jimmy Kimmel Live sketch

Hey Badger!
I stayed up way past my bed time and caught you looking like you were about to explode from sewage back up!
A full frontal shot of you! Well Done!
All I saw of the large black man with the dreds was about four of his dreds in the frame with you!
I didn't tape it, so I hope someone else got it for you. I guess this really does put you on the fast track to becoming an 'over night success.'
I sure wish your agent was mine, as well. she seems to be out there getting you regular work.
Once again, WELL DONE!

Geoff,

I did see the sketch during Kimmel's monologue. He started out talking about the airlines (or American Airlines) not offering chicklet - sized pillows anymore. Then he introduced a promotional video put out by the airlines. Cut to exterior shot of airplane flying. Cut to interior of plane. Several shots, both facing passengers, and from behind -- back of heads, stewardess in front, in aisle, explaining new procedures. Cut back and forth, various shots in plane. You are not seen. Maybe back of head, maybe not. Stewardess announces that there will be no more something or other, don't recall what, on flights. Cut to close up of woman with dark shoulder length hair. Not much of an expression on her face. Various other shots, stewardess announces that they will no longer offer restrooms on the flights. Cut to very good full shot of you, in your grey suit, sitting in your seat, looking very distraught. Cut to stewardess giving more of her explanatory talk. I think, no more oxygen masks are being offered, so, please take out your gold helium balloons, and inhale like this. Now stewardess's voice is so high and so funny. Cut to exterior of plane.

Badger,

I've been MIA for some time working on my dissertation and all, and I hadn't read your e-mail but I managed to catch your appearance on Jimmy Kimmel--totally by chance!

I had just washed my hair so I sat down in front of the TV to brush out the tangles. Jeff had Jimmy Kimmel on and we were watching. When you showed up on-screen, Jeff and I both yelled out, "Oh my god! It's Badger!" Our next door neighbors probably thought there was a badger running loose in our apt. It was so fortuitious. I never watch the talk shows. This was truly a neat coinky-dink.

Glad you're working!!

Okay, now back to my work. Oy.

I got it. It was at the beginning of the show, and you got your closeup. Basically just a concerned "I gotta go right now" look to your right side passenger.

I'll cut a DVD for you.

Good job.

Badger,

Believe it or not, the Amazon movie is the first time I've heard your voice. I've seen you in the The X-Files, on The Practice and of course in Garfield, but never before in any production in which you spoke.

And by the way, indeed your movie was the best of the bunch. The "buzzing" sound was a very clever gimmick, I figured it was a fly or something, but didn't connect it to the rest of the story until, well, it was obvious.

Incidentally, a friend of mine wrote that his son "helped to put together Amazon.com's Amazon Theater initiative." His son is a talent agent at United Talent Agency, but I'm not sure exactly what he did for Amazon.

Anyway, great job, and I hope it is a prelude to more work to come.

Larry

PS: I knew the pawn broker in the movie [Raymond O'Connor] looked familiar, but I couldn't place him until I saw his name in the credits. Ironically, I just won a B5 trading card autographed by him on eBay.

Geoff,
Thanks for sending [the information on seeing] that! "Careful..." is a very clever little film. I like the fly on the wall angle.
You certainly got a lot of screen time, lots of good shots. You were really good --- understated guilt. The whole cast did a good job.

I don't know if it was because I chose lowband width, but the entire film was very pixelated, with lots of "freeze frames." I'll try it on highband.
Congratulations!

On the ABC The Practice eighth season episode "The Chosen"…

From: Chicago Bob
Date: Thursday, December 25, 2003 9:12am
Subject: Re: Thanks

I did watch "The Practice" this past Sunday. Now that I knew when/where to look, it seemed that you had more screen time than before (like I said, it "seemed" that way). After seeing it the first time it was on, I, and other viewers, weren't sure if your time with the court case was over (you said that the case was declared a mistrial, and a settlement was accepted), I watched to see if I/we had really missed the settlement. Well, watching it the second time, there was no settlement accepted, the case was still up in the air. As for a mistrial, I thought that the judge said that she could declare a mistrial, but I can't say for sure that she did. I guess I'd have to see that part again. And Happy Residuals! May this be the first of many.

From my reply:
You missed the reference again? D'oh.
Okay, for Next Time... once they're taken into chambers, the judge does declare it a mistrial there.
Later when David Spade tells Sharon Stone that they won't rehire her and reminds her that they don't have to, she says to continue as [the offered settlement amount of over three million or so] isn't enough.
It's a quick, single line.

Subject: Re: Belated congrats on your "The Practice" appearance

Hey, how are you?
Please accept my belated congrats on your part on The Practice that aired on Oct. 5th. I even told my mother to watch, so even though she doesn't know you personally, she saw you as well.
You looked great in the jury box with the others as you were craning your neck around the room.
Hey, were you by chance on set when the hot Sharon Stone was present? If so, were you able to get any pics with her? If not did you encounter any other hotties? I'm dying to know.
Well, I hope all is well with you and take care,
Lee.

In my reply I pointed out it is Sharon's hand on my head (no stunt-hand), so yeah, I was there when she was on set....

it must have been very exciting to have Sharon Stone run her fingers thru your hair.

Subject: Re: Practice

Geoff,
I did watch "The Practice" this past Sunday and did see you in it. All too briefly, of course. I think that they showed the back of your head (nice comb-over, by the way) more than the front but, what can you do?
There were a couple of good shots of the jury, showing you and the others. When Sharon Stone lifted your comb-over and said "This is fraud," I thought that your reaction was pretty funny. I think that a longer (as in time) establishing shot of the jury, where the audience can see your hairdo would have been better (I'm sure that you'd agree with that), since some people (general audience) may not even know what Stone did, or to what she was referring when she came to you. But then again, the show wasn't about your comb-over hair.
I'm wondering, since I don't recall Stone's (character's) case being settled, or a verdict coming in from the jury, is her court case going to continue in part two of "The Chosen"? If so, might you not turn up in the next episode also?
So, how many people that you reminded/told about "The Practice" actually watched it?
I think that you should be able to capture a couple of good stills from the episode, via video tape/DVD, etc. Can't wait to see them. And yes, the new gal, Sokolov's replacement, ain't so bad. Still, Marla will be missed.
Bob

I pointed out in my reply that Sharon does make a quick verbal reference to a settlement offer of five [million], as James Spader tells her that her firm will not rehire her.

Caught you on The Practice last night - very recognizable indeed! I recognized you even tho' I had my glasses off upon your initial appearance. Since the show ended with a mistrial, do you think you might be back again as a juror in a second jury? (maybe they hope no one will recognize the jurors and just re-use them.... ok, prob'ly not.) in any case, a good showing for you.
Any word on when "Garfield" might be released?

We just finished seeing the episode.
You are definately right there on screen.
Along with the rather abrupt hair toss and chiding for 'fraud,' you also have 20 seconds or so, viewed of the very tip of your head, from the back.
Just thought you would want to know.
I taped it on VHS in case no one was able to get it digitally for you.

Hi Geoff,

I watched the "Statue of Liberty" show on TLC (I had originally thought that it was gonna be on the History Channel), and gotta say that you got in a lot of really good screen time, so congratulations on that, my friend !

I also recorded it on the TIVO, so, if your VCR failed, just let me know, and I can make you a copy, if you need it.

Normally those History Channel/TLC shows have such badly done pantomime in the background, I was surprised at how good Colossus was. I would have enjoyed it even if I wasn't watching it to see how you were in it.

Reviews on Sabrina the Teenage Witch appearance

Very cool episode.

Quite a few of my Freaks and Geeks fans watched it and my dad forced many of the people he works with to view it as well. They cut out the Sigfried and Roy [reference] though.

I think I now know why they didn't want you saying "Let's get some burgers," because they say in the next scene that we all went out for Chicken and Waffles. Not like you could hear what any of us said at that point anyway.

Hey Cuz
I watched Sabrina last night and picked you out immediately. Very prominent part for you. While I don't feel qualified to give a "review," I enjoyed the show as much as I ever do, it being cute and Melissa Hart being easy on the eyes. ;0)

Nice that you can update your website as easily as you do… I was talking to a customer earlier in the week and she couldn't seem to update her website… all she wanted to do was change the street address that was on her site (some sort of secretarial business she had and had moved) and of course it was all Earthlink's fault that she couldn't do it… :0\

Glad I got to see you on the show… keep up the good work!

Howdy,

I did see "Sabrina," and it was pretty funny, though not really my cuppa tea, so to speak.

Soleil has grown up really tasty looking, but she still appears fairly huge breasted, even after her much publicized reduction.

It was also good to see Gedde Watanabe in a comedic role again, after years of playing "straight" on "E.R.", even though his character on that is gay.
