Here Jared is shocked and excited to find out that he's been cast in the new
Penny Marshall
movie with
Drew Barrymore,
entitled
"Riding in Cars with Boys."
According to
upcomingmovies.com,
the film is based upon the true story of Beverly Donofrio, as can be found in her 1990 memoir of the full title, Riding in Cars With Boys: Confessions of a Bad Girl Who Makes Good.
The film's premise: Starting in the 1960's, spanning a 20-year period from 15 to 35, this is the story of a woman (Barrymore) who as a teenager has a son (Adam Garcia), got married, got divorced, and eventually pulled herself out of welfare and into college, studying to be a writer.
(Brittany Murphy plays her best friend, who also had a child as a teenager; Steve Zahn plays Drew's drug-addicted husband; Lorraine Bracco plays Drew's mother, James Woods plays her father).

Well, he got to be his cute li'l self, obviously.
Then he was wheeled in a hospital bassinet (we have pictures) then a "nurse" handed him to his mom.
You'll know it's him because the actress really did not know how to hold a newborn, and was really uncomfortable (the mom and nurse were extras).

According to its
Internet Movie Database entry,
the film is being released in America on October 19th, 2001, (the date on which Jared will be exactly eleven months old…!).
The feature opens overseas throughout December 2001.
