This WebQuest is intended to be used by students who are learning about the California Gold Rush and, specifically, about the world-record voyage of the clipper ship Flying Cloud. Students should be encouraged to read David W. Shaw's book Flying Cloud, before beginning. As they proceed through each step of the quest, students will be given research based assignments. By the end of the project, students will have produced enough material to be included in a group multi-media presentation. To the extent that it is available, use of the Internet and other computer programs is recommended.
