| I have worked here for 2 and 1/2 years and received
my share of the pleasant remarks and cheerfulness that John carried with
him in his daily work. His presence brightened my day each time he came
through my area.
However I always felt John's total support of the down and out, less fortunate people, without judgment of how they got where they were, his willingness to ease their burden for the moment in their present state with food clothes and encouragement and then to assist them on a step up to be more productive lifestyle was the greatest I have ever been privileged to observe. This personal involvement and positive remarks made those of us with less vision of the passing scene want to join in his campaign of support and share in his joy of helping them. I will always remember him as the person I hold in highest regard. He
will be missed by all he touched. |

| Hi, I feel that I must say something about that terrific guy, my buddy, (John) . I remember when I first started working for Xylan, besides my boss (Steve Tufts), and my other buddy Gabe Heininger, John was the one person whose name I never forgot. We would meet almost every day, He'd tell me a joke and whiz off laughing down the hall, leaving me in stitches. (Just thinking about him makes me (SMILE). I still remember buying a plant for Tamara (Dunn at the time). Boy did he rip into me. Everyday he'd have a joke, except these were about me, he never let me live buying that plant down. He'd always tell me "Tamara still likes Gianni (Gianni is the little brown Cocker Spaniel Xylan mascot I used to bring to work) more than you". We both had tons of laughs at my expense and he had no problem helping other people laugh at me, we all had fun with it. He had a knack for finding something pleasant in even the hardest times, and even when there was too much work to be done everyone would find the time to talk to John. John seemed to make everyone he would speak to feel like they had a friend in him. AND THEY DID. I cannot think of anyone who did not like that guy!!! He is really amazing. And I say is because he is still fresh in my mind, and I haven't seen him in over 2 years. And he will stay in my heart. I must say this to everyone feeling sorrow. John was too pure for this day and age, we all know that and so does God. I can't imagine how his family must feel losing a wholesome person like John but I will pray that they find some relief in knowing that he touched so many lives in such a positive and unselfish way that his smile, and his laugh will not leave this earth for many many years.. Man what a guy! |

| John Dexter,
What a wonderful man. I really barely knew him, but whenever I saw him
he always had a smile and a generous greeting for me. I have been working
here for four years and I have always been so impressed with the generosity
and love he gave to other people at the holidays. He is a man that I am
very proud to say I knew and shook the hand of. I believe John was one
of God's Living Angels that he placed on this earth to help the rest of
us out. I hope that some day I can be as un-selfish as John was. God Bless
you John. |

In the two years I have been at Alcatel I have admired
John Dexter. Now I miss him. As a tribute to John, I hope we can all come
together and carry on his kindness to each other and his holiday charity
drives.
