I am 8-bit!

MAME: This fantastic program (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) emulates all the classic arcade games that you dumped countless quarters into on your PC. I'm an Atari Age baby, so I'm all about Donkey Kong, Ms. Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Mr. Do, Centipede, etc. It's kind of complicated to figure out how to set all this up if you're a computer tard and the legality of emulating these games is something to consider, but you can find out more about it here.

id Software: When I'm playing contemporary video games, I just want someone to "show me where they are" (to quote Vasquez in Aliens). That said, id Software are the creators of Doom and Quake, two gory examples of therapeutic games for those with minimal patience.

Serious Sam: Serious Sam is a first-person shooter in the tradition of Duke Nukem: loud, over the top and a crazy shitstorm.

Undying: Clive Barker is one of my favorite authors, and Undying really captures the feel of a horror film or novel. Tthe damn thing actually caused me to jump out of my chair a few times when the sound has been up pretty loud.

I am 8-bit: I still have the Atari 2600 I had as a kid and it is now hooked up to my HDTV. I am 8-bit, and I am not alone.
